Li Auto L9 ULTRA

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 5.18 seconds
• 280 km electric range (CLTC)
• 1,412 km total combined range (CLTC)

Summary

This Li Auto L9 Ultra represents the pinnacle of Chinese extended-range EV technology, offering the rare 2025 'Smart Refresh' specification. With just 25,000 km, this vehicle is barely broken in for the GCC's long-distance driving culture, and its neutral exterior color ensures high resale desirability across the UAE and Saudi markets. As an Ultra trim, it eliminates range anxiety entirely by combining a 52.3 kWh battery with a 1.5-litre generator, providing a smooth, near-silent electric driving experience even on cross-border trips. For the family buyer in the Gulf, this model offers a level of digital luxury and seating comfort that rivals European SUVs at a significantly more accessible price point.

This Car vs Other 2025 Li Auto L9s

At 25,000 km, this L9 is well within the typical annual mileage range for the GCC, where highway-heavy commutes are standard. This specific 2025 model benefits from the 'Smart Refresh' updates, including the more powerful dual-chamber air suspension and upgraded 52.3 kWh battery, making it a superior choice compared to early 2024 or 2023 units.

ULTRA vs Lower Trims

The Ultra trim is the highest tier for 2025, adding a single NVIDIA Thor-U chip capable of 700 TOPS for industry-leading ADAS performance. Unlike lower trims, it features the 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen as standard and the flagship 21-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system, tailored for premium cabin experiences in the heat of the GCC summer.

L9 vs Segment Rivals

The L9 leads rivals like the BMW X7 or Mercedes-Benz GLS in interior tech, offering a dedicated refrigerator/heater box and spa-grade 16-point massaging seats in the first two rows. Its EREV powertrain provides a total range of 1,412 km, far surpassing the tank range of traditional V8 luxury SUVs for long desert highway runs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption sits at approximately 7.6 L/100km when the battery is depleted, which is remarkably efficient for a full-size SUV in stop-start city traffic. As a Chinese spec vehicle, buyers should note that software and charging port compatibility may require local adjustments, though the 1.5T generator runs comfortably on regional fuel grades. Resale value for Li Auto remains strong in the UAE due to high demand for high-tech family haulers.

Performance & Capability

Despite its 2.5-tonne footprint, the 449 hp dual-motor system delivers a 0–100 km/h time of just 5.18 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The Magic Carpet Air Suspension Max features dual-chamber springs that adjust damping in milliseconds, providing a cloud-like ride over uneven terrain or speed bumps.

Comfort & Cabin

The six-seat 2+2+2 layout features Nappa leather and ventilated seats in the first and second rows, a critical feature for the Gulf's 45°C summers. Rear passengers enjoy a massive 21.4-inch 4K screen and a dedicated climate zone, while the onboard refrigerator keeps drinks chilled during long drives between emirates.

Safety

This Ultra trim is equipped with a high-performance ATL LiDAR and 12 cameras, enabling a full ADAS suite with Night AEB that can detect pedestrians in unlit conditions. With 9 airbags standard, including a front-center airbag to prevent passenger collision, it achieves a 5-star C-NCAP safety rating for maximum family protection.

The bottom line

This 2025 L9 Ultra is the perfect opportunity for a tech-focused family in the GCC to own a flagship SUV with virtually no range limits and peak cabin luxury.
