• 200 mm ground clearance
• 12-speaker Bose audio system standard

Summary

This one-year-old MG RX9 COM offers a compelling blend of modern tech and seven-seat practicality that stands out in the midsize SUV segment. With 15,000 km on the clock, this example is significantly below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for GCC drivers, making it a fresh and reliable option. The forest-inspired Green exterior is a distinctive choice that provides a premium look while maintaining good resale appeal in the region. For the GCC owner, the COM trim is a major step up, providing the intelligent all-wheel-drive system essential for confident handling across various emirates. This model effectively bridges the gap between urban daily driver and long-distance cruiser, supported by one of the strongest service networks in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2025 RX9s

With just 15,000 km since its 2025 registration, this RX9 is in excellent condition relative to the high-mileage examples often found in the GCC market. Typical annual use for a seven-seater in this region often reaches 25,000 km due to inter-city highway travel, giving this lower-mileage unit a clear mechanical advantage. The Green exterior color provides a unique aesthetic that still holds strong value in a market usually dominated by monochromatic tones.

COM vs Lower Trims

The COM trim is the critical middle ground, adding the Intelligent 4WD system which is not available on the base STD model. GCC buyers will particularly value the upgrade to the 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and the inclusion of a wireless charging pad, both of which are standard on this trim. Unlike the entry-level version, the COM also features heated front seats and enhanced safety sensors, making it a more comfortable and secure family environment.

RX9 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the GAC GS8 or the Haval H9, the RX9 leads with the widest body in its class at 1,967 mm, translating directly to superior shoulder room for all seven passengers. Its 70-liter fuel tank is specifically sized for long GCC highway hauls, such as the drive from Dubai to Muscat or Riyadh to Dammam. The wheelbase of 2,915 mm ensures a more stable and refined ride on high-speed roads compared to shorter rivals in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0T powertrain is approximately 8.5 L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size in stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward across the GCC, with service intervals set every 10,000 km at authorized centers available in every major city from Kuwait to Oman. This model benefits from MG's 6-year or 200,000 km manufacturer warranty, a major trust signal that helps maintain strong resale value in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers 234 hp and 350 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless highway overtaking and smooth acceleration for a full family of seven. The 9-speed automatic transmission is tuned for refined shifts, maintaining comfort during long-distance desert highway drives. While primarily road-biased, the 200 mm ground clearance and selectable drive modes including Snow and Off-Road provide the necessary capability for gravel tracks and weekend beach trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a dual 12.3-inch digital display setup that manages everything from navigation to climate control. For the harsh GCC summer, the three-zone automatic air conditioning ensures that passengers in the third row receive dedicated cooling. The interior features a sophisticated multi-zone layout with smart storage solutions, making it an ideal environment for family road trips between emirates.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the COM trim includes six airbags and a 360-degree surround-view camera system, which is vital for maneuvering a vehicle of this size in tight urban parking. Active safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Traction Control, and Hill Descent Assist provide added security when navigating varied GCC terrains. The high-strength steel body construction offers a robust safety cell that competes well with established premium brands.

The bottom line

This 2025 RX9 COM is the ideal pick for a family looking for a nearly-new SUV with low mileage and a high feature-to-price ratio in the GCC market.
