Summary

This 2026 Geely Cityray GF PLUS is an exceptional opportunity for buyers seeking a futuristic crossover that balances advanced technology with high resale potential in the GCC. Finished in a high-demand white exterior, it sits at the peak of the model’s hierarchy, offering features often reserved for premium European marques. The GF PLUS trim distinguishes itself with a superior level of cabin refinement and safety tech that makes it a standout in the compact SUV segment. Its 1.5L turbocharged engine is specifically tuned for the high-ambient temperatures of the region, ensuring consistent performance during the peak of summer. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, this listing represents a chance to own a next-generation vehicle that prioritizes fuel efficiency without sacrificing the modern aesthetics and digital-first interior today's drivers crave. It is a savvy choice for those who want a brand-new feel with the peace of mind that comes from a robust local service network and modern manufacturing standards.

This Car vs Other 2026 Cityrays

As a 2026 model, this vehicle is at the absolute forefront of the current automotive generation in the GCC, offering the most up-to-date software and mechanical refinements available. Compared to other examples from the same year, this specific unit benefits from being the GF PLUS flagship, meaning it carries the full suite of factory upgrades that are often missing on base or mid-tier units. The white exterior is a strategic advantage in the local market, as it reflects the intense Arabian sun more effectively than darker shades, keeping the cabin cooler and preserving the paint's long-term integrity. Since this is a current-year model, it effectively offers a 'new car' experience with the most modern safety protocols and interior materials. In a market where mileage can climb quickly due to inter-emirate commuting, starting with a fresh 2026 model provides a significant buffer for future resale value. This car is ideally positioned for someone who wants to avoid the depreciation hit of a brand-new showroom purchase while retaining all the benefits of the latest tech.

GF PLUS vs Lower Trims

The GF PLUS trim is the definitive choice for the tech-conscious GCC driver, adding several layers of luxury and convenience over the standard Cityray. While lower trims focus on basic utility, the GF PLUS introduces a more sophisticated interior palette with upgraded materials and a larger, more responsive infotainment interface. You also gain a more comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes features like a 360-degree panoramic camera that is essential for navigating tight parking spots in Dubai or Riyadh. The climate control system in this trim is also more advanced, featuring more precise zoning to ensure all passengers remain comfortable during the 45°C summer months. Additionally, the GF PLUS often includes enhanced acoustic glass and sound dampening, providing a noticeably quieter ride on the highway compared to the entry-level variants. Choosing this trim ensures you are getting the full vision Geely intended for this model, rather than a stripped-back version.

Cityray vs Segment Rivals

The Cityray competes in a crowded crossover segment against rivals like the MG ZS and the Changan CS35 Plus, but it leads the pack in terms of digital integration and standard safety features. While many competitors require expensive packages to unlock adaptive cruise control or lane-keeping assist, this Geely offers them as part of its core identity. Its 1.5L engine is designed for a balance of city agility and highway efficiency, making it better suited for the long-distance drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai than some of its naturally aspirated competitors. The interior legroom in both the front and rear is particularly generous for this class, ensuring that even with a full load of five passengers, the cabin never feels cramped. Geely’s rapid expansion in the GCC means that parts and service support are now more accessible than many other emerging brands, giving it a practical edge over less established rivals. It strikes a unique balance of looking like a concept car while performing like a dependable daily driver.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the Cityray are among the lowest in its class, thanks to a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that is optimized for fuel economy even in heavy stop-start traffic. Real-world consumption typically sits around 6.3L to 6.7L per 100km on the highway, making it an excellent choice for those who drive long distances across the UAE. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, with authorized service centers conveniently located across all major GCC cities, ensuring that maintenance is never a logistical burden. Geely has seen some of the strongest value retention among Chinese brands in the region, with depreciation rates becoming increasingly competitive with established Japanese and Korean rivals. In the used market, the GF PLUS trim is the most sought-after, meaning it will likely hold a higher percentage of its value when it comes time to trade in. The car is designed to run on 91 or 95 octane petrol, providing flexibility at the pump regardless of which GCC country you are driving in.

Performance & Capability

Performance is driven by a refined 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 150 hp, which provides brisk acceleration that is perfect for merging onto fast-moving GCC highways. The automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring that gear changes are almost imperceptible during city commutes. While it is a rear-wheel-drive crossover, the chassis is balanced to provide excellent stability at high speeds, even during the occasional wind-swept desert highway drive. The 150 hp output is more than sufficient for a vehicle of this weight, allowing for confident overtaking without the engine feeling strained. Ground clearance is optimized for urban life, easily handling the high speed bumps and varied terrain found in developing residential areas. The car also features multiple drive modes, allowing the driver to prioritize fuel saving for the commute or a more responsive throttle for weekend trips. Overall, it offers a composed and predictable driving experience that prioritizes passenger comfort above all else.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the Cityray GF PLUS, the focus is on a premium digital experience and maximum thermal comfort, which is vital for the GCC climate. The seating for five is upholstered in high-quality materials that are designed to resist wear and stay cool even after being parked in the sun. The air conditioning system is particularly robust, featuring high-output vents that can lower the cabin temperature rapidly after a long day in the heat. A large panoramic sunroof adds a sense of airiness to the cabin, while high-quality tinting helps mitigate heat soak. The infotainment system is the centerpiece of the interior, offering seamless connectivity and a crisp display for navigation and media. Storage is plentiful, with various cubbies and a well-proportioned boot that can easily accommodate a weekly grocery run or luggage for a weekend getaway. Quietness is a key attribute here, with the cabin doing an admirable job of filtering out the drone of highway traffic and wind noise.

Safety

Safety is a headline feature for the 2026 Cityray GF PLUS, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of active and passive systems. It carries a 5-star NCAP-equivalent safety rating, providing peace of mind for families and solo drivers alike. The ADAS suite is particularly useful in the GCC, featuring blind-spot monitoring which is essential for the multi-lane highway environments of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Adaptive cruise control and emergency braking are standard, helping to mitigate the risks associated with sudden stops in heavy traffic. Multiple airbags, reinforced side-impact beams, and advanced stability control ensure that the vehicle remains planted even in adverse weather conditions like sandstorms or sudden rain. Furthermore, the 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view of the car, making it nearly impossible to miss obstacles when reversing or maneuvering in tight urban spaces. This level of safety equipment is typically found in vehicles at a much higher price point, making this a standout choice for the security-conscious buyer.

The bottom line

This 2026 Geely Cityray GF PLUS is the perfect match for a modern professional or small family who wants a tech-loaded, fuel-efficient SUV with the latest safety features. Given its flagship status and 2026 model year, it offers incredible value and a future-proof driving experience in the competitive GCC market.
