This recently designed 2018 Renault Koleos, with its smaller siblings – the Captur and Kadjar – both performing extremely well, Renault’s larger model further boost its credentials. Styling is like that of the Renault Megane, unsurprisingly. The front of the Koleos features large C-shaped LED daytime running lights that define its face.
While on this Full option grade model you get full LED Pure vision headlights that look high-tech. Chrome detailing runs back along the front wing and into the front doors, while the side window surrounds, and door handles get a similar chrome treatment. All this adds up to impressive presence from any angle, with blind spot warning, Bose sound system, heated/cooled leather seats and riding on 18-inch alloy wheels.
You cannot go wrong with the performance offering on the four-wheel drive 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 170bhp & 233Nm of torque being mated to the CVT gearbox. The steering is direct for a car of this size, and despite its height, the Koleos does not roll around when you tentatively point it in the direction of a few interesting bends. All around the cabin are materials that look and feel better than we are used to seeing in recent Renault cars. The dashboard is very upright with grab handles on either side of the center console, while trim panels across the passenger side fascia are echoed in the door panels, and there is a healthy amount of cross stitching and leather too.
