Summary

This Toyota Land Cruiser 70 is a rare find in the GCC market, combining the legendary LC79 chassis with remarkably low mileage for its age. Finished in Beige, the most sought-after resale color for this model in the region, it represents a preserved example of Toyota’s indestructible workhorse. Unlike many 70 Series that have spent decades in heavy industrial or desert use, this manual-transmission petrol variant offers a cleaner, more collectible ownership profile. It is the definitive choice for enthusiasts who value mechanical simplicity and absolute reliability in extreme desert environments.

This Car vs Other 2007 Land Cruiser 70s

With only 19,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle’s mileage is exceptionally low compared to the 300,000+ km typical for 2007 models in the GCC. The Beige exterior is the gold standard for resale value in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, offering better heat reflection and market desirability than darker shades. Finding a GCC-spec LC79 from this era in such preserved condition is increasingly difficult, as most were retired from service long ago.

LC79 LX vs Lower Trims

The LX trim elevates the utilitarian LC79 with essential comfort features that GCC buyers prioritize, including a more refined cloth interior and front-door armrests. It replaces the basic steel wheels and split rims found on lower Workmate trims with more highway-friendly wheels and wider over-fender flares for a more planted stance. These additions make the LX significantly more usable as a daily driver or weekend overland vehicle compared to the entry-level commercial variants.

Land Cruiser 70 vs Segment Rivals

In the GCC, the Land Cruiser 70 stands alone against rivals like the Nissan Patrol Safari pickup, leading specifically in long-range autonomy with its standard dual 90-litre fuel tanks. While others may offer more modern interiors, the Toyota’s live-axle suspension and 4.5L engine are unmatched for durability in deep sand and rocky wadis. Its vast authorized service network across every corner of the UAE and Oman ensures parts availability that few competitors can match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.5L petrol engine is designed for reliability rather than efficiency, typically consuming 14–16L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, though many local owners opt for 5,000 km oil changes given the extreme summer heat. As a GCC-spec Land Cruiser, it enjoys the highest value retention in the regional used market, often depreciating at less than 8% annually, significantly outperforming European luxury pickups.

Performance & Capability

The LC79 is engineered for low-end grunt, with its 228 hp petrol engine providing steady torque for heavy hauling and technical off-roading. Its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and heavy-duty leaf-spring rear suspension make it a formidable platform for carrying gear into the deep desert. The manual transmission and selectable low-range transfer case give the driver total control over difficult terrain where electronic systems often struggle.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a functional three-seat layout designed for durability, featuring high-sitting positions that offer excellent visibility over the hood—a vital trait for dune bashing. The air conditioning system is famously powerful, capable of maintaining cabin cooling even when outside temperatures exceed 45°C. Practical touches like the factory refrigerator or cooled console options in this era ensure long-distance comfort during cross-country desert expeditions.

Safety

Safety in this 2007 model is focused on mechanical robustness and crash protection provided by its heavy-duty steel frame. Standard features for the GCC LX trim include an engine immobiliser and basic seatbelts for all three occupants, emphasizing the vehicle's role as a rugged workhorse. While it lacks the electronic suites of modern SUVs, its predictable handling and massive ground clearance provide a safe, stable platform for low-speed technical driving.

The bottom line

For the collector or serious overlander, this ultra-low-mileage LC79 represents a rare chance to own a 'new' classic in the most desirable GCC color and specification.
