Summary

This Lexus is a compelling option for those seeking the brand's legendary reliability and refinement in a compact, manageable footprint. As an American spec model in the classic White exterior, it benefits from a highly desirable resale profile in the UAE market where this specific color remains the top choice for buyers. While the mileage reflects consistent use, these V6 engines are renowned for their longevity when properly maintained, often outlasting rivals in the harsh local climate. It offers a more visceral, rear-wheel-drive experience compared to the larger ES models, making it ideal for drivers who prefer a tighter, more engaging commute. For a GCC buyer, this represents a proven entry point into luxury ownership with a service network that is second to none.

This Car vs Other 2012 IS250s

With 190,000 km, this vehicle sits at the average mileage mark for a 2012 model in the GCC, where daily highway commutes between emirates are standard. The white exterior is a strategic advantage, as it is the most requested color in the regional used market for its heat-reflective properties and ease of maintenance. Compared to lower-mileage examples, this car offers a significantly lower entry price while benefiting from the same mechanical durability Lexus is famous for.

PRESTIGE vs Lower Trims

The Prestige trim enhances the cabin experience with standard leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats, which are essential for comfort during long drives. It typically adds a power moonroof and a higher-grade audio system compared to the base models found in other markets. For UAE summers, the inclusion of dual-zone automatic climate control ensures the cabin reaches optimal temperatures quickly, a feature that feels more robust in this trim.

IS250 vs Segment Rivals

The IS250 competes directly with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, leading the segment in long-term reliability and lower maintenance costs across the GCC. While German rivals may offer different turbocharged outputs, the Lexus V6 provides a smoother, linear power delivery that handles the extreme heat of Dubai and Riyadh without the complexity of forced induction. Its compact turning circle makes it much easier to maneuver in tight urban parking than many of its European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 9.2L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic may see this rise slightly. Parts availability is exceptional across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with both authorized Lexus centers and specialized independent shops readily available. Lexus models in this segment traditionally retain their value better than almost any other luxury brand, depreciating at a much slower rate than equivalent European sedans.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L V6 produces a smooth 205 hp, allowing for a top speed of approximately 225 km/h, which provides plenty of confidence for highway overtaking on the E11 or E311. The rear-wheel-drive configuration ensures balanced handling, giving the car a sporty character that feels planted at cruising speeds. Its six-speed automatic transmission is tuned for refinement, delivering seamless shifts that prioritize a quiet cabin environment over aggressive surges.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in insulation, successfully keeping out the road noise and high ambient temperatures common in the region. Seating for five is wrapped in high-quality materials that have historically proven to resist the wear of the intense sun better than many rivals. The layout is driver-centric, featuring an ergonomic dashboard and a powerful air conditioning system that is specifically praised by GCC owners for its efficiency during July and August.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of active and passive systems, including multiple airbags and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to maintain traction on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. Standard Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) provide critical support during sudden highway stops. This model year earned top safety marks, ensuring peace of mind for both solo commuters and small families.

The bottom line

This IS250 is the perfect match for a young professional or a small family looking for a reliable, white luxury sedan that will hold its value for years to come. It’s a smart buy that balances premium Lexus prestige with the sensible running costs of a proven V6 powertrain.
