Summary

This Lexus IS 250 represents a balanced entry into the luxury sedan market, combining the brand’s hallmark reliability with a sharp, timeless aesthetic. Finished in high-resale White, this American-spec unit offers a more refined V6 driving experience compared to the four-cylinder engines typically found in this segment. Despite the mileage, these powertrains are celebrated for their longevity in the GCC’s demanding climate, provided they receive consistent maintenance. It remains a top choice for professionals and small families seeking a premium commuter that holds its value better than European rivals. The Premier trim adds essential comfort features that transform the daily drive into a quiet, luxury experience.

This Car vs Other 2012 IS 250s

With 190,000 km, this vehicle reflects typical highway usage for a GCC-based car of its age, where annual averages often exceed 20,000 km. The exterior White paint is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during peak summer months. As an American-spec model, it offers a high equipment level often exceeding basic regional counterparts of the same year.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the Base and Prestige versions, most notably including a 13-speaker premium audio system and genuine leather upholstery. Buyers also benefit from enhanced comfort features such as heated and ventilated front seats, which are critical for UAE summers, along with a power-adjustable steering column and memory seating. These additions specifically target the refinement expectations of the executive segment in the Middle East.

IS 250 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW 3 Series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class of the same era, the IS 250 stands out for its lower long-term maintenance costs and superior air conditioning performance in extreme heat. While rivals may offer turbocharged torque, the Lexus 2.5L V6 provides a smoother, linear power delivery and a quieter cabin at highway speeds. Its compact turning circle also makes it far more maneuverable in tight city parking compared to the Audi A4.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 9.2L/100km on combined cycles, making it a predictable commuter for the Dubai-Abu Dhabi run. Lexus maintains one of the strongest resale values in the GCC, typically depreciating at just 8–10% annually compared to 15% for European luxury competitors. With an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, sourcing parts and expert technicians is significantly easier than for more niche luxury brands.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L V6 engine produces a refined 205 hp, capable of reaching a verified top speed of 225 km/h. Its rear-wheel-drive architecture provides a sporty, balanced feel that makes it stable and composed during high-speed highway overtaking. The six-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness rather than aggression, ensuring a relaxed journey even in heavy stop-start city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a quiet sanctuary, featuring high-quality acoustic glass that isolates passengers from road noise. The Premier trim ensures all five occupants are kept comfortable with a dual-zone climate control system renowned for its ability to handle 45°C+ temperatures rapidly. Premium materials, including wood-look accents and soft-touch leather, maintain their integrity well against the high UV exposure typical of the region.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the 2012 model year, featuring a suite of eight standard airbags and Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) to prevent skids on sandy or wet surfaces. The Premier trim includes a rearview camera and parking sensors, which are essential for navigating busy urban environments. Anti-lock brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution provide consistent stopping power, a critical feature for fast-moving GCC highways.

The bottom line

A reliable and stylish luxury sedan that offers the best resale color and a refined V6 engine, perfect for a buyer who wants Lexus prestige without the high maintenance costs of a European rival.
