Summary

This 2008 Lexus IS250 Premier offers a refined entry into the executive sedan market, combining Lexus's hallmark reliability with a high-specification cabin. Despite the mileage, these V6 engines are known for their longevity in the GCC, and the white exterior remains the most practical choice for heat rejection and resale value in the UAE. It stands out from European rivals by offering lower long-term maintenance costs and a smoother, quieter ride geared toward daily comfort. As an American spec model, it provides a feature-rich interior that makes it a sophisticated commuter for those prioritizing brand prestige and cabin quality over raw performance. This is a reliable choice for a driver seeking a premium badge without the high depreciation risks associated with newer luxury alternatives.

This Car vs Other 2008 IS250s

With 200,000 km, this vehicle has seen consistent use that aligns with typical GCC highway driving patterns of 20,000 to 25,000 km annually. While the mileage is standard for its age, the white exterior is a significant advantage, as it is the most sought-after resale color in the regional market. Buyers will find this example mechanically well-suited to the environment, provided regular cooling system checks are maintained.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the base models, often adding leather upholstery and memory seat settings that are highly valued by secondary buyers. It typically features a premium audio system and enhanced interior trim materials, offering a more executive feel during long Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi commutes. These luxury additions help the Premier maintain a stronger price floor in the used market compared to entry-level trims.

IS250 vs Segment Rivals

The IS250 competes directly with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, leading the segment in ride quietness and long-term mechanical simplicity. Its 2.5L V6 is generally more resilient to the extreme GCC summer heat than the turbocharged four-cylinder engines often found in European competitors. Furthermore, the Lexus authorized service network is more extensive across the wider GCC, including smaller cities in Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 9.1 L/100km, though this may increase to 12 L/100km in heavy stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. The 64.7-litre fuel tank provides a generous highway range, reducing the frequency of stops during cross-emirate trips. Lexus models in the GCC typically depreciate at a slower rate of 8-10% annually, significantly outperforming European luxury sedans in value retention. As an American spec car, parts are widely available, though buyers should ensure a local garage has confirmed the cooling system is optimized for local conditions.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-litre V6 delivers a smooth 204 hp, reaching 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds with a top speed of 225 km/h. While not a track-focused machine, the naturally aspirated power delivery is linear and reliable for highway overtaking and maintaining speed on long desert roads. The automatic transmission is tuned for seamless shifts, ensuring a relaxed driving experience whether navigating city traffic or cruising at speed.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with high-quality insulation to keep the GCC summer heat and road noise at bay. Standard dual-zone climate control is robust, featuring rear vents to ensure all passengers remain comfortable during July and August. The Premier trim's cabin materials are durable, holding up well against the intense local sun, while the ergonomic seat design supports driver comfort on extended journeys.

Safety

This Lexus comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including multiple airbags, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). These systems are particularly effective on the UAE's high-speed highways, providing stability during sudden maneuvers. The inclusion of Traction Control also aids in maintaining grip on sand-swept road surfaces common throughout the region.

The bottom line

This IS250 Premier is the perfect choice for a young professional or a small family looking for Lexus luxury and reliability on a budget. In the UAE market, a white Lexus at this price point represents a low-risk entry into premium ownership with excellent parts support.
