Summary

This Nissan Maxima S offers a compelling balance of performance and practicality for the GCC market. Its white exterior is a top choice for regional resale and effectively manages the intense local heat. At 178,000 km, this sedan sits at an average mileage for its age in the UAE, reflecting a life of steady highway use between emirates. The 3.5-liter V6 provides enough power for confident overtaking on fast-moving highways like E11. For a buyer looking for a reliable Japanese sedan with a sporty edge, this GCC-spec Maxima is an excellent daily workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2012 Maximas

With 178,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered approximately 15,000 km per year, which is below the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-average usage makes it a mechanically attractive option compared to high-mileage examples often found in the secondary market. The white paint is the most practical and sought-after color in the region, ensuring better heat reflection and stronger resale demand.

S vs Lower Trims

As the entry point to the Maxima lineup, the S trim focuses on the core performance of the 3.5-liter VQ-series engine while providing essential GCC comforts like dual-zone automatic climate control and rear A/C vents. While higher trims add leather and Bose audio, the S maintains the same 290 hp output, offering the same high-speed stability and engine refinement at a more accessible value point.

Maxima vs Segment Rivals

The Maxima stands out against rivals like the Toyota Aurion or Honda Accord by leaning into its 'Four-Door Sports Car' identity with a more driver-focused chassis and a potent V6. It offers superior highway passing power and a more substantial road presence. Additionally, its 76-liter fuel tank is ideal for long-distance cross-border drives, providing more range than smaller-tanked competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.4 L/100km, which is competitive for a V6 sedan in GCC stop-start city traffic and long highway stretches. Nissan's massive authorized service network (including Arabian Automobiles and Al Masaood) ensures that parts and expert maintenance are available in every emirate and across the wider GCC. This model enjoys strong value retention due to the brand's reputation for durability and the high demand for V6 sedans in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The 290 hp V6 engine enables a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 6.4 seconds, making it one of the quicker naturally aspirated sedans in its class. Power is delivered smoothly through an Xtronic CVT, specifically tuned to handle the high-speed cruising common on UAE highways. Its front-wheel-drive layout provides stable handling during heavy rain or on gravel-strewn service roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring eight-way power-adjustable seating and a spacious rear bench for three passengers. The air conditioning system is engineered for the 45°C+ summer peaks, maintaining a cool environment even during the hottest parts of the day. Acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road and wind noise during fast highway commutes.

Safety

This Maxima comes standard with six airbags and Nissan's Advanced Air Bag System to protect all occupants. Active safety features include Traction Control (TCS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), which are essential for maintaining stability on sandy or sun-slicked asphalt. Four-wheel ABS with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) ensures consistent stopping power in the region's fast-moving traffic.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional or family driver needing a reliable, powerful highway cruiser that holds its value and is easy to maintain anywhere in the GCC.
