• 10 airbags standard

Summary

This GCC-spec sedan offers a refined entry into the luxury segment, balancing Lexus’s legendary reliability with the aggressive 'spindle grille' redesign of the third-generation IS. With mileage that reflects typical highway use in the region, this V6-powered commuter remains a highly sought-after model in the UAE for its build quality and summer-ready cooling. The grey exterior is a practical choice for the local climate, holding its visual appeal and resale value better than bolder alternatives. It stands out from rivals by offering a more composed, quiet cabin that excels in daily stop-start traffic and long-distance desert highway runs. For a GCC buyer, the combination of a smooth naturally aspirated engine and widespread parts availability makes this a low-risk, high-comfort investment.

This Car vs Other 2014 IS250s

At 139,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 14,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-average usage makes it a prime candidate for buyers seeking long-term mechanical longevity. The grey finish is one of the most resilient colors for the local market, ensuring strong demand and price stability during resale.

PRESTIGE vs Lower Trims

The Prestige trim serves as a significant step up in cabin technology, standardizing features that are essential for the GCC climate. Unlike base variants, it typically includes upgraded LED lighting and enhanced interior materials that provide better insulation from the heat. It also provides the full suite of 10 airbags, offering a higher safety ceiling than many entry-level competitors in the 2014 model year.

IS250 vs Segment Rivals

The IS250 competes directly with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, leading the segment in long-term reliability and air conditioning performance—a critical factor during UAE summers. While rivals often moved to smaller turbocharged four-cylinders, the Lexus retains a smooth V6 that delivers a more linear power delivery. Its 66-liter fuel tank is well-suited for long cross-emirate commutes, requiring fewer stops than some more compact-tanked European rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus enjoys some of the strongest value retention in the GCC, with an annual depreciation rate significantly lower than its German counterparts. Real-world fuel economy is efficient for a V6, averaging around 8.6 L/100km, and the engine is designed to run reliably on local fuel grades. With an extensive authorized service network spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, maintenance is straightforward and parts are readily available at competitive price points.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-liter V6 produces a smooth 205 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.1 seconds, which provides confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The rear-wheel-drive architecture ensures a balanced chassis that remains stable during high-speed cruising between cities. Drive modes allow you to switch between a fuel-efficient Eco setting and a sharper Sport mode for more responsive throttle input when navigating city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 5-seat layout with high-quality upholstery designed to withstand intense sunlight without fading. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the Middle East, offering rapid cooling and dedicated rear vents to keep all passengers comfortable in 45°C temperatures. Quiet cabin insulation keeps road noise to a minimum, making it an ideal environment for long-distance family road trips or executive commuting.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for this trim, which comes equipped with 10 airbags covering front, side, curtain, and knee protection for both the driver and front passenger. Standard stability and traction control systems are invaluable for maintaining grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. The inclusion of electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist ensures maximum stopping power during emergency situations on fast-moving multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

This IS250 is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants Lexus refinement and GCC-proven reliability without the high mileage typically found on cars of this age. It offers a premium, summer-ready driving experience with the best resale security in its class.
