Summary

This 2016 Maserati GranTurismo Sport represents one of the most evocative grand tourers available in the GCC, powered by a soulful, naturally aspirated V8 developed in collaboration with Ferrari. With a mileage of 102,563 km, this example is well-suited for a buyer looking to enjoy Italian performance without the steep depreciation of a new model. The Grey exterior is a sophisticated, high-demand choice for the UAE market, offering better resale resilience than more polarizing colors. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully equipped to handle high-speed highway cruising between Emirates while keeping the cabin cool even in peak summer temperatures. This Sport trim offers the perfect balance of aggressive aesthetics and long-distance comfort, making it a standout daily-drivable supercar in its segment.

This Car vs Other 2016 GranTurismos

At 102,563 km, this GranTurismo has been driven approximately 12,800 km per year, which is well below the typical GCC average of 20,000 km per year for highway-heavy use in the UAE. This lower-than-average usage for its age makes it a compelling choice for a buyer prioritizing mechanical longevity. The Grey exterior is widely considered a safe and premium choice for the local market, ensuring it remains attractive to future buyers in the GCC.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The Sport trim provides a significant power bump to 454 hp compared to the base 4.2-litre models, while adding the highly sought-after MC Auto Shift software for faster gear changes. GCC buyers will appreciate the aggressive front bumper and dark-tinted headlights that differentiate the Sport on the road. Inside, it features upgraded Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara as standard, providing a more premium tactile experience for long desert drives.

GranTurismo vs Segment Rivals

The GranTurismo leads rivals like the Jaguar F-Type and BMW 6 Series in sheer emotional appeal, thanks to its Ferrari-derived V8 soundtrack that is unmatched in its class. While competitors focus on digital tech, the Maserati offers a genuine 2+2 seating arrangement that provides more usable rear space for short family trips across Dubai. Its 72-litre fuel tank ensures adequate range for long-distance highway travel between cities like Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 14.7 L/100km, though this reflects the high-performance nature of the engine in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals for the V8 are typically every 20,000 km or annually, with major authorized service centers well-established across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While Italian luxury cars face steeper initial depreciation than Japanese rivals, the GranTurismo Sport maintains a dedicated enthusiast following in the GCC, helping it retain value better than many other high-end European coupes after the five-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the 4.7-litre V8, capable of propelling the coupe to a top speed of 298 km/h, making it a formidable highway cruiser on the UAE’s open roads. The 0–100 km/h sprint of 4.8 seconds is delivered with a linear power band that feels incredibly responsive during high-speed overtaking. The Rear Wheel Drive setup and Skyhook adaptive suspension allow the driver to toggle between a comfortable touring mode and a sharper Sport setting for the twists of Jebel Jais.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a masterclass in Italian craftsmanship, featuring a four-seat layout that genuinely accommodates adults in the front and children or small adults in the rear. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is robustly engineered to provide rapid cooling, while the standard Bose surround sound system ensures high-fidelity audio over the V8’s exhaust note. The cabin is well-insulated, making it a refined place to spend time during three-hour drives between Emirates.

Safety

This Sport trim comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including front and side airbags, electronic stability control, and high-performance Brembo brakes. The front and rear parking sensors are essential for navigating tight mall parking in Dubai, while the Xenon headlights with a washing system provide excellent visibility during night drives on unlit desert highways. The vehicle's traction control system is specifically tuned to handle varied surfaces, providing confidence even on sandy or gravel-strewn road edges.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec GranTurismo Sport is the ideal entry point for a buyer who wants the Ferrari-developed V8 experience in a reliable, well-maintained package suited for the local market. Its moderate mileage and timeless color combination make it one of the most sensible ways to own a piece of Italian automotive history in the UAE today.
