Summary

This Porsche Cayenne S offers a compelling balance of sports-car DNA and SUV utility, featuring a 400 hp twin-turbo V6 that outperforms the standard model on every GCC highway. With mileage that sits comfortably within the expected range for a 10-year-old vehicle in the region, it has been spared the extreme high-kilometer wear often found on long-distance commuters. The black exterior remains one of the strongest resale choices in the UAE, maintaining its premium appeal and professional look. For the GCC buyer, this trim represents the sweet spot of the range, offering the mechanical poise required for fast-paced inter-emirate travel without the extreme running costs of the Turbo models. Its dual-purpose nature makes it just as suitable for the school run as it is for high-speed weekend trips to Oman or Fujairah.

This Car vs Other 2016 Cayennes

With 112,487 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged approximately 11,200 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC average. This indicates a car that has likely seen more urban use rather than grueling daily cross-country commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The black paintwork is a highly liquid asset in the local used market, ensuring faster resale times and better value retention than more niche colors.

S vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the S trim replaces the naturally aspirated base engine with a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6, providing a crucial 100 hp advantage for safer highway overtaking. Beyond the power, this trim typically adds enhanced braking hardware and larger wheels as standard, along with interior upgrades like memory seats and the BOSE premium audio system that are frequently sought by luxury buyers in the UAE.

Cayenne vs Segment Rivals

The Cayenne S leads rivals like the BMW X5 xDrive40i and Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 in pure driving dynamics and brand prestige. While competitors focus on soft ride quality, the Porsche offers a more connected steering feel and a superior 100-litre fuel tank, providing a significant range advantage for long-distance desert highway drives. Its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity also makes it a more capable weekend companion for those hauling jet skis or horse trailers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 9.8 L/100km, though expect higher figures in heavy Dubai or Riyadh stop-start traffic where the V6 works harder. Porsche's authorized service network is robust across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with specialized independent garages providing excellent support for out-of-warranty 10-year-old models. The Cayenne S historically holds its value better than the Turbo or base trims, typically depreciating at a more predictable rate in the GCC luxury SUV market.

Performance & Capability

A verified top speed of 259 km/h ensures this SUV remains one of the fastest vehicles in its class, even a decade after production. The four-wheel-drive system is tuned for road-biased agility but offers a dedicated off-road mode that adjusts the traction management for sand and gravel surfaces. With 550 Nm of torque available from low RPM, the Cayenne S provides effortless acceleration for merging into fast-moving highway traffic across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around a five-dial instrument cluster that mimics the 911, creating a cockpit-like feel for the driver. In the GCC climate, the powerful multi-zone air conditioning and rear cooling vents are essential for maintaining comfort during summer peaks. The interior uses high-grade materials that resist the intense UV exposure common in the region, while the 670-litre boot provides ample space for family road trips or golf gear.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive suite of airbags and Porsche Stability Management (PSM), which is particularly effective on rain-slicked roads after a desert storm. This trim also benefits from multi-collision braking and optional lane change assist, providing peace of mind on the high-speed multi-lane highways of the GCC. Its heavy-duty braking system, originally designed for German autobahns, ensures consistent stopping power even in extreme heat.

The bottom line

This is a well-maintained, GCC-spec performance SUV that offers the prestige of the Porsche badge with a mileage profile that makes it a very low-risk entry into luxury ownership.
