Summary

This 2017 Jeep Cherokee Limited is an ideal choice for GCC drivers seeking a balance of American muscle and refined cabin comfort. Powered by the proven 3.2L Pentastar V6, it offers significantly more overtaking confidence on fast-moving highways like the E11 than the base 4-cylinder models. As a Limited trim, it comes equipped with high-end features often reserved for luxury segments, all wrapped in a practical grey exterior that excels at hiding road dust and maintaining strong resale appeal. With its GCC specification, this SUV is built to handle the region's summer heat with an optimized cooling system and powerful dual-zone climate control. Whether for the daily urban commute or weekend family trips across the Emirates, it remains one of the most versatile mid-sized SUVs in its class.

This Car vs Other 2017 Cherokees

With 140,000 km, this Cherokee sits at a typical mileage for a well-utilised 2017 model in the GCC, where annual averages of 20,000 km are standard due to highway-heavy driving. While many Cherokees in the used market are base 'Sport' trims with the smaller 2.4L engine, this listing features the highly desirable V6. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the UAE, ensuring better value retention compared to less common niche colours.

Limited vs Lower Trims

Choosing the Limited trim over the Sport or Latitude adds significant premium equipment that GCC buyers value. You gain a larger 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, leather-trimmed upholstery, and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels. Crucially for the local climate, the Limited trim standardises dual-zone automatic temperature control and adds a power liftgate for added convenience during shopping trips.

Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

The Cherokee competes against the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, standing out by offering a 6-cylinder engine where most rivals are limited to 4-cylinder options. This gives it a clear advantage in towing capacity and highway performance. Its unique sliding and reclining rear bench also provides more flexible legroom for tall passengers compared to more rigid layouts found in its Japanese competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.2L Pentastar V6 delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.9L/100km, performing efficiently on long-distance highway cruises between cities. Jeep has an extensive authorised service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, making parts and maintenance easily accessible. As a GCC-spec model, it maintains a higher market value than imported American-spec alternatives, with an average annual depreciation of 12-15% in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 272 hp and 324 Nm of torque, this Cherokee offers smooth and linear acceleration that makes highway overtaking effortless. The 9-speed automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency at cruising speeds, while the chassis provides a composed ride over varied road surfaces. Though road-biased, its 185 mm ground clearance is ample for handling gravel tracks and sandy parking areas common during weekend outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around passenger comfort, featuring leather seats and high-quality soft-touch materials that isolate road noise well. The dual-zone climate control system is robust enough for the peak of UAE summer, supported by rear-seat air vents to keep all passengers cool. Technology is anchored by the 8.4-inch Uconnect system, which remains one of the most intuitive interfaces of its generation for Bluetooth and navigation use.

Safety

Standard safety features on the Limited trim include seven airbags and a ParkView rear back-up camera with dynamic grid lines. It also features Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and All-Speed Traction Control, which are vital for maintaining grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. The vehicle’s sturdy construction and comprehensive airbag suite contributed to its high safety ratings during its production year.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Cherokee Limited is a smart opportunity for a buyer looking for a V6 SUV that offers more luxury and power than a standard crossover without the premium price tag of a brand-new model.
