Summary

This 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S represents the sweet spot of the 991.2 generation, featuring the refined twin-turbo engine that delivers massive low-end torque for UAE highway overtaking. Finished in a professional and high-resale Grey, this GCC-spec example has been driven roughly 13,000 km per year, which is significantly below the typical GCC average for a daily-driven sports car. The All-Wheel Drive system provides exceptional security during the rare but heavy rain showers in the region and offers superior traction on dusty road surfaces. For a buyer looking for a modern, tech-forward 911 that balances daily usability with supercar performance, this Carrera 4S is a compelling choice in the local market.

This Car vs Other 2017 911s

With 93,531 km on the odometer, this 911 has been driven roughly 13,000 km annually, which is considerably lower than the 20,000 km average seen in the GCC. The Grey exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets, ensuring much stronger resale liquidity than more vibrant or niche paint options.

CARRERA 4S vs Lower Trims

The Carrera 4S sits at the top of the standard Carrera range, adding 50 hp over the base Carrera and a wider body shell that gives it a more aggressive stance. Most importantly for GCC drivers, it includes the active All-Wheel Drive system and larger brakes, features that provide a noticeable increase in stability and stopping power compared to the rear-wheel-drive base models.

911 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Audi R8 or Jaguar F-Type, the 911 Carrera 4S leads in daily practicality with its 2+2 seating and superior forward visibility. Its all-wheel-drive system is specifically tuned to feel rear-biased, offering the character of a sports car with the all-weather grip that rivals often struggle to balance.

Running Costs & Resale

This 991.2 generation is more fuel-efficient than its predecessors, averaging approximately 8.9 L/100km on the combined cycle, making it a viable long-distance tourer between Emirates. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a vast network of authorized service centers across the UAE and the wider region, maintaining a much higher value retention than imported North American or European models. Typically, the 911 Carrera 4S holds about 70-75% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine produces 500 Nm of torque starting at just 1,700 rpm, providing instant response for navigating fast-moving Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Launch control allows this Carrera 4S to hit 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, while the PDK automatic transmission ensures seamless power delivery. The All-Wheel Drive system is proactive, shifting torque to the front wheels in milliseconds to maintain line stability at high speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the 911 features a focused cockpit with high-quality materials designed to withstand the intense GCC summer heat. The air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful in the sports car segment, quickly cooling the cabin even after being parked in direct sunlight. With two rear seats and a front luggage compartment, it offers enough utility for weekend getaways or daily commuting.

Safety

Standard safety features include Porsche Stability Management (PSM), which is essential for maintaining control on sandy or oil-slicked road surfaces. This trim includes high-performance multi-piston brakes and a comprehensive airbag suite, alongside advanced traction control systems that adapt to driving modes. These systems provide a significant safety margin during high-speed highway cruising across the GCC.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Carrera 4S is a perfect opportunity for an enthusiast who wants the security of all-wheel drive and the prestige of a well-maintained 911 in a high-resale color.
