Summary

This 2018 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack delivers a visceral driving experience that few modern sedans can match, combining four-door practicality with true muscle car DNA. Its striking Blue exterior is a high-demand color in the GCC used market, ensuring better visibility and resale appeal compared to more common shades. With a 485 hp HEMI V8, this model provides a significant power jump over the standard R/T while maintaining enough comfort for daily use. While the mileage reflects consistent highway travel across the Emirates, this powertrain is renowned for its long-term durability when properly maintained. For the GCC buyer, it represents the sweet spot in the lineup—offering SRT-level performance without the extreme maintenance costs of the supercharged models.

This Car vs Other 2018 Chargers

With 144,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the average GCC passenger car of its age, yet these figures are typical for American-spec imports that often serve as long-distance commuters. The Scat Pack trim is more robust than the V6 variants, making it better suited for the high-temperature, high-speed demands of GCC highways. Its Blue finish is a distinctive choice that holds its value well in a market often saturated with white and silver models.

R/T SCATPACK vs Lower Trims

The Scat Pack is a major technical upgrade over the 5.7L R/T, replacing the standard engine with a high-displacement 6.4L HEMI V8. Beyond the extra 115 horsepower, this trim adds essential performance hardware including a Severe Duty cooling system to manage GCC summer heat, Brembo high-performance brakes, and a launch control system. Inside, it often features upgraded Uconnect 4C tech with performance pages to monitor engine vitals in real-time.

Charger vs Segment Rivals

The Charger Scat Pack stands alone as the only authentic American rear-wheel-drive muscle sedan in its class, offering more displacement and character than rivals like the Kia Stinger GT or the Nissan Maxima. It leads the segment in pure naturally aspirated power, providing a linear torque delivery that is perfect for highway overtaking. Its large 70-litre fuel tank ensures decent range for cross-emirate trips despite its performance-focused engine.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.4L HEMI typically ranges between 14 and 16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though it can achieve better efficiency on steady highway cruises. As an American-spec vehicle, owners enjoy a massive availability of affordable spare parts across the UAE, though it is important to service it at specialists familiar with the HEMI platform. Resale value for Scat Packs remains strong in the region due to a dedicated enthusiast base and the discontinuation of this high-displacement engine.

Performance & Capability

Powered by the legendary 392 cubic-inch V8, this sedan launches from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 281 km/h. The 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission provides lightning-fast shifts that make the car feel agile on city roads and effortless on the E11. High-performance Brembo brakes ensure reliable stopping power, a critical safety feature when navigating fast-moving highway traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring spacious seating for five and a powerful AC system engineered to combat extreme desert temperatures. It includes an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring modern connectivity for every journey. The interior insulation effectively manages road noise, making it a surprisingly refined cruiser when the active exhaust is set to its quieter modes.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including the ParkView rear backup camera and ParkSense rear park assist, which are essential for maneuvering a large sedan in tight urban spaces. Standard stability control and advanced traction management help maintain grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. Multiple airbags and a high-strength steel safety cage provide peace of mind for family use on busy multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

Perfect for the enthusiast who needs a family-friendly sedan but refuses to sacrifice V8 performance, this Scat Pack is a high-spec opportunity in a standout color.
