Summary

This 8-year-old E63 AMG S is a definitive performance sedan for the GCC, balancing supercar-rivalling acceleration with the executive refinement required for long-distance cruising. The handcrafted V8 biturbo engine and intelligent all-wheel-drive system offer a level of mechanical depth that keeps this generation at the top of the performance segment. While this is a Japanese spec vehicle, it has been maintained with low mileage relative to its age, making it an attractive choice for a buyer who values mechanical freshness. In the local market, the Black exterior is a perennially strong resale color, ensuring this remains a liquid asset. Owners across the UAE and wider GCC benefit from one of the most robust authorized service networks for high-end performance vehicles.

This Car vs Other 2018 E63 AMGs

With only 51,000 km over 8 years, this example averages just 6,375 km per year, significantly lower than the typical 20,000 km yearly average seen in the GCC market. This lower-than-average usage is a major advantage for local buyers, as it suggests less wear from the extreme summer heat and high-speed highway cycles. The Black finish is a prime resale color in the region, offering a distinct advantage over more niche factory shades when it comes time to trade.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim is the necessary upgrade for GCC performance enthusiasts, increasing output to 603 hp and adding a dedicated 'Drift Mode' not available on the standard model. It features larger 20-inch wheels, an electronic limited-slip rear differential for sharper cornering, and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system as standard. These mechanical upgrades, along with standard Nappa leather and enhanced cabin tech, command a significant premium in the used market over the base E63.

E63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW M5 and Audi RS6, the E63 AMG S leads with its versatile 4.0L V8 that features cylinder deactivation for improved efficiency during city traffic. Its 9-speed MCT transmission provides a more visceral shift response than rivals' traditional torque converters, ideal for fast-moving Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi highway runs. The combination of an air-suspension system and a massive 80-litre fuel tank makes it more suitable for long-distance regional touring than its stiffer competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is rated at approximately 10.8 L/100km combined, though city driving in heavy Riyadh or Dubai traffic will see higher figures. As a Japanese spec vehicle, it is important to verify local service compatibility, although Mercedes-Benz maintains an extensive authorized network across all GCC countries including UAE, KSA, and Kuwait. These performance sedans typically see a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually in the local market, but well-kept S-trim examples with low mileage like this one hold their value better than high-mileage GCC-spec alternatives.

Performance & Capability

The 603 hp V8 biturbo enables a verified 0-100 km/h time of just 3.4 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on multi-lane highways. With the AMG Driver’s Package, the top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h, highlighting its capability as a premier grand tourer. Multiple drive modes, including Race and Drift, allow the driver to adjust the chassis and powertrain to suit either a comfortable commute or a track day at Yas Marina.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a standard 5-seat configuration with high-grade Nappa leather and the intuitive Widescreen Cockpit consisting of two 12.3-inch displays. The air conditioning system is renowned for its ability to quickly cool the cabin even in peak summer temperatures, supported by rear-seat vents and high-quality insulation. Quiet highway cruising is ensured by the advanced air suspension, which isolates passengers from road noise during long inter-emirate drives.

Safety

This trim includes the full suite of Mercedes-Benz safety systems, featuring Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and the Pre-Safe collision preparation system. The 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional stability on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces, while the 360-degree camera system is standard, making it easy to maneuver in tight urban parking environments. These active systems provide peace of mind during the fast-paced driving common on major GCC transit routes.

The bottom line

This low-mileage E63 AMG S represents a rare opportunity to own a top-tier performance sedan that has seen significantly less use than its peers. It is the perfect choice for the executive buyer who wants supercar speed in a discreet, luxury package that remains one of the most respected badges in the GCC.
