Summary

This 2018 Mini Cooper S Countryman ALL4 offers a versatile alternative to standard hatchbacks with its higher ground clearance and intelligent all-wheel drive. The white exterior is a prime choice for the GCC, reflecting heat efficiently and maintaining the strongest resale value in the local market. With 92,000 km, this car has been driven roughly 15,000 km per year, which is significantly below the 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It bridges the gap between a spirited compact and a family-ready crossover, providing the 'go-kart' handling Mini is famous for alongside enough space for a small family. For a buyer in the region, the combination of GCC specifications and the more powerful 2.0L engine makes this a durable choice for both city commutes and long inter-city highway drives.

This Car vs Other 2018 Cooper S Countrymans

At 92,000 km, this vehicle sits well below the typical 120,000–150,000 km range expected for a six-year-old car in the GCC, representing a significant mileage advantage. The white exterior is not only practical for the desert sun but also ensures faster liquidity when it comes time to sell. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the necessary cooling and filtration systems required to handle the region's extreme summer temperatures without the technical complications often found in imported counterparts.

ALL4 vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the Cooper S ALL4 trim replaces the standard 1.5L three-cylinder with a much more robust 189 hp 2.0L turbocharged engine, essential for highway overtaking. The ALL4 system adds intelligent all-wheel drive, providing superior grip on sandy or rain-slicked roads. Inside, you gain sport-bolstered front seats and larger 18-inch wheels as standard, significantly upgrading the aesthetic and tactile feel over the base Cooper models.

Cooper S Countryman vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Audi Q3 or BMW X1, the Countryman offers a more distinctive design language and a lower centre of gravity for better cornering stability. It leads in interior flexibility with 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats that slide to prioritize either legroom or cargo. While competitors focus on soft luxury, the Mini provides a more communicative driving experience that enthusiasts in the region prefer for active weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 8.9L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though highway cruising can drop this closer to 7.0L/100km. Mini has a strong authorized service presence across major UAE cities and growing networks in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, ensuring parts availability. In the GCC market, Mini Countrymans typically see a depreciation rate of 12–15% annually, holding their value better than niche European competitors due to high local demand for the brand's lifestyle image.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a factory-quoted 0–100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 221 km/h, making it very capable on fast-moving UAE highways. The ALL4 all-wheel-drive system continuously monitors traction, shifting power between axles in milliseconds to maintain stability on gravel or during sudden maneuvers. While not a desert off-roader, its increased ground clearance compared to a standard Cooper allows for confident driving on unpaved roads and through light sand common near beach or camping spots.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is surprisingly spacious for five adults, featuring high-quality materials and the iconic circular infotainment display that serves as the interior's centerpiece. For the GCC summer, the air conditioning system is specifically tuned for rapid cabin pull-down, supported by rear cooling vents to keep all passengers comfortable. The boot space is highly practical, expanding from a standard 450 litres to 1,390 litres with the seats folded flat, accommodating large grocery runs or weekend gear with ease.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive eight-airbag system and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) to prevent skidding on uneven surfaces. The vehicle is equipped with rear parking sensors and a high-resolution rearview camera, which are vital for navigating tight parking structures in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Additionally, the standard run-flat tires provide an extra layer of security during long desert drives, allowing you to reach a service station even after a loss of pressure.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec ALL4 is the ideal choice for a young professional or small family seeking the iconic Mini style without sacrificing the all-weather capability and space required for life in the Emirates.
