Summary

This 8-year-old 911 GT2 RS represents a rare opportunity to own one of the most powerful street-legal Porsches ever produced, showing just 12,000 km. In the GCC market, silver is a top-tier resale color that manages the intense sunlight better than darker shades, preserving the finish and interior temperature. While it is a Japanese spec, these imports are highly sought after by local enthusiasts for their exceptional preservation and documented low-mileage history. This model stands out from rivals like the McLaren 720S by offering a raw, rear-wheel-drive experience rooted in motorsport heritage. For a buyer in the Emirates or wider Gulf, this is a track-ready icon that maintains incredible street presence and long-term collectibility.

This Car vs Other 2018 911s

With only 12,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typical for cars in the GCC. While many 8-year-old performance cars show wear from high-speed highway commuting between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this example's low mileage suggests it has been kept as a weekend collector piece. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering the best balance of aesthetic appeal and high resale demand in the local used market.

GT2 RS vs Lower Trims

The GT2 RS is a radical leap over the already potent Turbo S, replacing the all-wheel-drive system with a purist rear-wheel-drive setup and stripping weight through extensive use of carbon fiber and titanium. It adds a water-injection system for the intercoolers to ensure the 700 hp output remains consistent even in the high ambient temperatures of a GCC summer. Unlike lower trims, the GT2 RS features unique aerodynamics including a massive adjustable rear wing and NACA ducts on the front lid for optimized brake cooling.

911 vs Segment Rivals

Against rivals like the Ferrari 488 Pista or the Lamborghini Huracán Performante, the 911 GT2 RS leads with its Nürburgring-proven chassis and a level of mechanical durability that Porsche is famous for in the Gulf. Its biturbo flat-six offers a broader torque curve than its Italian competitors, making it more manageable for high-speed overtakes on long stretches of the E11. Furthermore, Porsche's extensive service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia provides a layer of ownership security that boutique supercar brands often lack.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is approximately 11.8 L/100km combined, though this will increase significantly during spirited drives or in stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. Service intervals are recommended every 15,000 km or annually, and specialized Porsche centers are readily available across all major GCC cities. As one of the most limited 991-generation models, the GT2 RS enjoys exceptional value retention, often outperforming the standard 911 range which typically sees 12-15% annual depreciation in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 2.8 seconds, delivered via a 7-speed PDK transmission specifically beefed up for this trim's 750 Nm of torque. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration and rear-axle steering provide surgical precision, whether navigating the technical bends of Jebel Jais or performing high-speed runs at the Dubai Autodrome. The titanium exhaust system not only sheds weight but provides a distinctive, aggressive acoustic profile that is unmistakable on the road.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a focused two-seat environment featuring carbon-fiber bucket seats and Alcantara trim, designed to hold the driver securely during high-G cornering. Despite its track focus, the air conditioning system is robust enough to handle the 45°C+ heat of the region, ensuring the cabin remains habitable during summer months. The Japanese spec often includes a high level of interior tech, though buyers should note that navigation maps may require local updates for full GCC functionality.

Safety

Safety is managed by Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with sport tuning, allowing for high limits while providing a safety net for fast-moving highway traffic. Standard features include massive Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) for fade-free stopping power and a reinforced body shell utilizing carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. The inclusion of six airbags and advanced traction control systems ensures that this 700 hp machine remains controlled even on the shifting sand and gravel surfaces occasionally found on coastal roads.

The bottom line

For the serious collector in the GCC, this low-mileage Japanese-import GT2 RS offers a perfectly preserved entry into Porsche's highest tier of performance. It is the definitive choice for a buyer who demands a track-capable supercar that will hold its value as a modern classic.
