Summary

This 2019 Audi A5 40 TFSI offers a compelling entry into the executive sedan segment, balancing sharp German aesthetics with a highly efficient powertrain. As a 7-year-old vehicle with approximately 95,000 km, it has averaged roughly 13,600 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual use seen in the GCC. The Black exterior remains one of the strongest resale colors in the local market, ensuring it stays desirable for future buyers. Compared to its rivals, the A5 stands out with its liftback-style cargo versatility and the refined tech of the Audi MMI system. For a GCC buyer, this specific listing represents a well-preserved example that avoids the high-mileage wear common on regional commuters.

This Car vs Other 2019 Audi A5s

With 95,606 km on the odometer, this A5 has been driven far less than the regional average for its age, where many seven-year-old sedans in the UAE exceed 150,000 km. The Black paintwork is a major advantage for resale value in the GCC, consistently ranking among the top three most sought-after colors. This combination of moderate mileage and a high-demand color makes it a stand-out choice for those prioritizing long-term value retention.

40 TFSI vs Lower Trims

The 40 TFSI represents a significant step up from the entry-level 35 TFSI, upgrading from a 1.4L to a more robust 2.0L turbocharged engine. In the GCC, this larger displacement is vital for maintaining cabin cooling efficiency while navigating fast-moving highway traffic. This trim typically includes the larger 7-inch MMI display and LED headlights as standard, features that are often optional on base models.

A5 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi A5 is frequently cross-shopped against the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It leads the segment in practicality thanks to its Sportback design, providing a 480-litre boot that is more accessible than the traditional trunks of its rivals. Its 54-litre fuel tank paired with high efficiency also offers a superior highway range for long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 40 TFSI typically sits around 6.5–7.5 L/100km in GCC city traffic and drops toward 5.5 L/100km on the highway. This model is known for holding its value well in the UAE, depreciating at a more predictable rate than high-performance S or RS variants. Audi has a massive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, making parts and maintenance easily accessible for the long term.

Performance & Capability

Delivering 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque, this sedan provides effortless overtaking power on 140 km/h highways. The 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission is tuned for smooth shifts in city traffic while remaining responsive during spirited drives. Despite being Front Wheel Drive, the chassis offers exceptional stability and high-speed composure on long-distance cross-border road trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features Audi's signature minimalist design with premium leather upholstery and a tri-zone automatic climate control system designed to handle 45°C+ summer heat. It comfortably seats five, with rear air vents ensuring all passengers stay cool during midday drives. Acoustic glazing provides a quiet environment, effectively insulating the cabin from desert wind noise at high speeds.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes Audi Pre Sense Basic and City, which help mitigate collisions in stop-start traffic. It also features a comprehensive airbag system, electronic stability control, and front and rear parking sensors with a rearview camera. These systems are particularly beneficial on the UAE's multi-lane highways, providing an extra layer of protection during high-speed lane changes.

The bottom line

This A5 is an ideal pick for an executive or small family looking for a stylish German sedan that has avoided the high-mileage abuse typical of the GCC market. It offers the prestige of the Audi brand with significantly lower running costs than its larger-engine competitors.
