Summary

This GCC-spec Lexus NX300 Platinum offers a blend of Japanese reliability and compact luxury that remains highly sought after in the UAE market. While the mileage reflects active use, Lexus models of this era are renowned for their mechanical longevity and consistent performance in extreme desert heat. The Platinum trim is the highest specification available, adding premium materials and technology that significantly improve daily driving comfort compared to the base models. Its pearl white exterior is widely considered the best resale color in the region, offering excellent thermal reflection and holding value better than darker alternatives. For a buyer seeking a prestigious yet sensible daily driver, this NX300 stands as a proven choice with a robust service network across the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2019 NX300s

With 157,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, yet its condition reflects the durability of the Lexus platform. Frame this as a mechanically proven highway cruiser that has likely seen regular long-distance trips between emirates. The white exterior is a strategic advantage for the local market, ensuring higher interest and stronger price retention during future resale.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the NX300 experience by adding essential GCC comforts like ventilated front seats and a power-folding rear row. It features a superior 10.3-inch infotainment display and a premium 14-speaker Mark Levinson sound system that are not standard on the Premier or Prestige trims. Additionally, this top-tier grade includes the 360-degree panoramic view monitor, making parking in tight urban spaces significantly easier.

NX300 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X3 or Mercedes-Benz GLC, the NX300 leads in long-term ownership peace of mind and authorized service center availability throughout the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While European rivals focus on sportier handling, the Lexus prioritizes cabin insulation and air conditioning efficiency, which is a decisive factor during the peak summer months. Its 60-liter fuel tank is well-sized for the compact segment, offering a reliable range for cross-border GCC road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L turbocharged engine averages approximately 9.7 L/100km, which is efficient for an All-Wheel Drive SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Lexus maintains some of the highest residual values in the region, with the NX typically depreciating at a slower rate than its German counterparts. Authorized service intervals occur every 10,000 km, and the Al-Futtaim service network ensures that genuine parts and expert maintenance are always accessible.

Performance & Capability

The turbocharged 235 hp engine provides smooth, linear power that makes highway overtaking effortless, reaching 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive system provides added stability on gravel roads and during heavy seasonal rain, ensuring grip across varying UAE terrains. While designed for the road, its ground clearance allows for confident navigation of high speed bumps and minor sandy tracks during weekend escapes.

Comfort & Cabin

The Platinum cabin is a sanctuary of high-quality leather and soft-touch materials, specifically designed to withstand the intense GCC sun without premature wear. The dual-zone climate control system is famously powerful, featuring dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool instantly. Premium acoustic glass helps maintain a quiet environment, shielding occupants from highway wind noise and city bustle.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with the full Lexus Safety System+, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert which are invaluable for long desert highway drives. The 360-degree camera and Blind Spot Monitor provide essential coverage for the fast-paced multi-lane traffic common in Dubai and Riyadh. Standard front and rear parking sensors, paired with eight airbags, ensure a high level of protection for family occupants.

The bottom line

This NX300 Platinum is the ideal choice for a professional or small family looking for a high-spec luxury SUV that is famously reliable and easy to maintain in the GCC.
