Summary

This 2013 Lexus LX570 Platinum represents one of the most resilient luxury SUVs in the GCC market, offering a perfect blend of high-end refinement and legitimate off-road hardware. With 188,000 km, this vehicle is well within the typical mileage expected for a decade-old Lexus in the region, where these V8 engines are known to easily surpass the 300,000 km mark with routine care. The White exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the UAE and wider GCC, ensuring strong value retention and better heat reflection during peak summer. As a Platinum trim, it delivers a level of cabin technology and materials that remains competitive even against newer rivals. For the GCC buyer, this model provides the peace of mind of a massive authorized service network and unmatched parts availability from Dubai to Muscat.

This Car vs Other 2013 LX570s

At 188,000 km, this LX570 sits at an average mileage for its age in the GCC, reflecting the long-distance highway use typical of the region rather than harsh city wear. Its White exterior is a significant advantage, as it is the highest-demand color for resale in the local market. Compared to others of the same year, this GCC-spec Platinum trim avoids the navigation and radio frequency issues often found in imported American or Japanese spec examples.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the LX570 experience by adding essential GCC features like ventilated front seats and a cooled center console box, which are often absent on lower Prestige trims. It also standardizes the premium 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and the dual-screen rear entertainment system, making it the preferred choice for family road trips. Furthermore, it includes the 360-degree camera system, a vital tool for maneuvering such a large SUV in tight urban parking.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

The LX570 leads rivals like the Range Rover and Cadillac Escalade in long-term reliability and desert capability, thanks to its shared DNA with the Land Cruiser. While the Range Rover may offer more complex air suspension, the Lexus provides a 138-litre total fuel capacity (including the sub-tank) which is superior for trans-emirate drives. Its 8-seat configuration also makes it more practical for larger families than the typical 7-seat layout found in European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus maintains the strongest value retention in the GCC luxury SUV segment, typically depreciating at just 8-10% annually compared to 15% or more for European rivals. The naturally aspirated V8 is designed for 95 or 98 octane fuel and averages roughly 14.8L/100km in combined driving, though GCC city traffic will see higher figures. Authorized service centers like Al Futtaim in the UAE or Abdullah Hashim in KSA provide extensive support, with major service intervals typically occurring every 10,000 km.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a robust 5.7L V8 producing 381 hp, this SUV handles highway overtaking with ease despite its 2.7-ton curb weight. Its true strength lies in its off-road hardware, featuring a low-range transfer case, a Torsen limited-slip center differential, and a dedicated Crawl Control system for deep sand. The Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) allows the driver to raise the vehicle for desert obstacles or lower it for easier passenger access and high-speed stability.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of mahogany wood and semi-aniline leather, designed to seat eight passengers in comfort. The quad-zone climate control is specifically engineered to handle 45°C+ temperatures, with dedicated vents for all three rows ensuring rapid cooling. Long-distance comfort is enhanced by the quietness of the acoustic glass and the convenience of the factory-integrated refrigerator located in the armrest.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with 10 airbags standard, providing protection across all three rows. The 2013 Platinum trim includes Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which are highly beneficial for maintaining safety on the fast-moving E11 highway. Additional features like Blind Spot Monitoring and the Multi-terrain Monitor give the driver a clear view of hazards whether on a busy city street or a steep dune.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a luxury flagship that can survive both the Dubai Mall parking lot and the Liwa dunes, this Platinum-spec LX570 is a bulletproof investment in the GCC's most trusted SUV platform.
