Summary

This 2019 Maserati GranTurismo Sport represents one of the final opportunities to own a naturally aspirated V8 developed in collaboration with Ferrari. With only 18,012 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the typical 20,000 km per year expected for 7-year-old GCC cars. The crisp White exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, ensuring strong resale demand and excellent heat reflection during the summer months. As a Sport trim, it balances the raw character of a supercar with the refinement of a luxury grand tourer, making it the ideal choice for high-speed runs between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In a segment now dominated by turbocharging, this V8's mechanical purity and legendary soundtrack remain its greatest competitive advantages.

This Car vs Other 2019 Gran Turismos

At just over 18,000 km, this example sits in the lowest mileage bracket for its model year in the GCC market, where luxury coupes typically accrue double this distance. The White exterior is the most preferred color for local resale, offering a distinct advantage when it comes time to trade. Its GCC specification ensures the cooling systems and electronics are fully optimized for the region's extreme operating temperatures.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The Sport trim serves as the core of the GranTurismo range, featuring the high-output 4.7L V8 and the sophisticated Skyhook adaptive suspension system which is often absent on base models. It includes 20-inch Astro design alloy wheels and an 11-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system as standard. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the Sport-specific interior upgrades, including Poltrona Frau leather and the more intuitive 8.4-inch MTC+ infotainment system with smartphone integration.

Gran Turismo vs Segment Rivals

The GranTurismo stands apart from rivals like the Porsche 911 or BMW 8 Series by offering a genuine four-seat cabin that can accommodate adults in the rear. Its naturally aspirated V8 provides a linear power delivery and acoustic profile that modern turbocharged competitors cannot replicate. Furthermore, the 72-litre fuel tank and grand touring suspension setup make it far more suited for cross-border GCC road trips than more track-focused supercars.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 14.7L/100km combined, though highway cruising between Emirates can see figures improve to 11.9L/100km. Service intervals are required every 20,000 km or annually at authorized Maserati centers available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European luxury coupes experience higher depreciation than Japanese alternatives, the GranTurismo Sport maintains a loyal enthusiast following in the GCC due to its discontinued engine configuration, supporting long-term value retention.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 460 hp Ferrari-built V8, the GranTurismo Sport reaches 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and continues to a top speed of 299 km/h. Power is managed by a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission featuring MC Auto Shift software with five distinct driving modes, including a dedicated I.C.E. mode for increased control on sandy or slippery surfaces. The rear-wheel-drive layout and limited-slip differential provide a classic sports car feel that is perfectly suited for the UAE's well-maintained highway network.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a masterclass in Italian craftsmanship, featuring 4 full-sized seats upholstered in premium leather. The dual-zone climate control system is engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even when exterior heat exceeds 45°C. For long drives, the Harman Kardon audio system and acoustic glass provide a refined environment, while the Skyhook suspension allows the driver to toggle between firm handling and a compliant, luxury ride.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a high-performance Brembo braking system and a comprehensive airbag suite. The car features front and rear parking sensors paired with a high-resolution rearview camera to assist in tight urban parking. Stability and traction control systems are specifically calibrated to handle high-speed highway stability and provide safety during the occasional gravel or sand dust encounters common on desert roads.

The bottom line

This is a collector-grade example of an Italian icon, offering the perfect mix of low mileage, local-spec reliability, and the soul-stirring performance of one of the world's last great naturally aspirated V8 engines.
