Summary

This 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS350 serves as a sophisticated middle ground between a formal executive sedan and a sharp-edged sports coupe. Finished in Grey, a neutral yet high-demand shade that supports strong resale across the GCC, this example features the efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged engine boosted by a 48V mild-hybrid system. It delivers smooth, lag-free acceleration perfect for the multi-lane highways of the UAE while remaining notably more efficient in stop-start city traffic than previous V6 generations. For a five-year-old vehicle in this region, the mileage reflects consistent but well-distributed use, making it a viable daily driver for those seeking modern aesthetics. The most critical advantage for any local buyer is its GCC specification, which ensures the cooling and filtration systems are specifically engineered for the high-temperature desert climate.

This Car vs Other 2019 CLS350s

With 120,000 km, this vehicle sits exactly within the average annual mileage band of 20,000–25,000 km typical for the GCC market. The Grey exterior is a significant asset in the region, as it hides road dust effectively and maintains a high resale value compared to louder colors. Unlike American imports often found in the market, this GCC-spec unit maintains full compatibility with local authorized service centers and regional map software.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim on the CLS350 includes the 12.3-inch high-resolution digital cockpit and central display as part of the Widescreen Cockpit experience. It features 64-color ambient lighting and leather upholstery as standard, essentials for the luxury aesthetic GCC buyers demand. Additionally, it carries the EQ Boost system which provides a temporary power injection that isn't available on older, non-hybrid base models.

CLS350 vs Segment Rivals

The CLS350 leads rivals like the Audi A7 and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe in pure silhouette-driven design and cabin material quality. Its 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain offers a more balanced approach to fuel economy for daily commuting between emirates compared to the heavier six-cylinder alternatives in this class. While rivals focus on raw cargo space, the CLS prioritizes a distinctive grand-touring feel and superior air suspension refinement.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this mild-hybrid averages approximately 7.8 L/100km, offering a significant range advantage on long desert highway runs. Authorized service centers for Mercedes-Benz are widely available across every major city in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring consistent maintenance standards. The CLS maintains a steady depreciation rate of roughly 12-15% annually in the GCC, performing well against luxury segment averages due to its high demand as a lifestyle vehicle.

Performance & Capability

The CLS350 achieves a verified 0-100 km/h time of 6.0 seconds, powered by a 299 hp engine that feels more substantial thanks to the immediate electric torque of the EQ Boost system. With a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h, it is perfectly suited for high-speed cruising between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The rear-wheel-drive layout and nine-speed automatic transmission provide a sporty yet composed handling profile that remains stable even in high summer winds.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with executive comfort in mind, featuring multi-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to combat extreme heat. High-grade materials and acoustic insulation ensure the interior remains quiet at highway speeds, a vital feature for long cross-border drives. The standard sunroof and integrated smartphone connectivity provide a modern, open feel that caters to both business and family use.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring and forward collision warning, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in the GCC. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system including knee and side-curtain protection. Adaptive braking technology and stability control systems are specifically tuned to handle varied surfaces, providing extra security during occasional sand or gravel visibility challenges on highway outskirts.

The bottom line

For the executive who wants a coupe's style without sacrificing the utility of a four-door sedan, this GCC-spec CLS350 is a smart choice that balances modern hybrid efficiency with high local resale potential.
