Summary

This 2020 X6 40i M Sport Exclusive offers a sophisticated blend of coupe-like styling and high-riding SUV presence, powered by the reliable B58 straight-six engine. The Green exterior is a bold choice that stands out in a sea of monochrome, while the GCC specification ensures it’s ready for the region's intense summers and high-speed highway commutes. At 90,000 km, this vehicle has been driven precisely in line with typical GCC annual averages, indicating consistent use rather than stop-start city wear. For a buyer seeking the sporty M Sport aesthetics without the V8 running costs, this trim hits the sweet spot of performance and daily usability.

This Car vs Other 2020 X6s

With 90,000 km on the odometer, this X6 is exactly on track with the average GCC annual usage of 22,500 km per year, suggesting it has primarily been used for inter-emirate highway travel. The Green paintwork is a rare and premium find that can command a niche interest at resale compared to more common shades. Being a GCC-spec model, it carries a significant value advantage and ease of service compared to imported American or European examples.

40i M SPORT EXCLUSIVE vs Lower Trims

The Exclusive package on top of the M Sport trim adds high-demand features like a 360-degree surround-view camera, ventilated front seats, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system. It also includes the Head-Up Display and 21-inch M-specific wheels, which are major value drivers in the UAE used market. These upgrades significantly improve the daily driving experience in the heat and provide better technology integration than the base xDrive40i.

X6 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X6 leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and Audi Q8 with its sharper handling and the highly acclaimed B58 engine’s power delivery. Its 83-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long desert highway drives across the GCC. While rivals offer similar tech, the X6’s driver-focused cockpit and standard-fit adaptive suspension offer a more engaging drive on well-paved UAE roads.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages between 8.8 and 10.0 L/100km, which is efficient for a large AWD crossover on long-distance GCC runs. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive network of authorized AGMC and Abu Dhabi Motors centers across the UAE, and similar coverage in Saudi Arabia. The X6 40i holds its value better than the V8 M50i variants due to lower long-term maintenance costs and broader appeal among local buyers.

Performance & Capability

The turbocharged 3.0L engine delivers 340 hp, propelling the X6 to 100 km/h in a swift 5.5 seconds, making highway overtaking effortless. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system and 212 mm of ground clearance provide confidence for light gravel paths or sandy weekend escapes. Selectable drive modes, including Sport and Comfort, allow you to stiffen the chassis for the curves of Jebel Jais or soften it for a smooth cruise to Muscat.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC summer, featuring standard ventilated front seats and a powerful multi-zone climate control system designed for high ambient temperatures. Acoustic glass and premium leather upholstery ensure a quiet, refined environment even at highway speeds. The 580-litre boot space is ample for family shopping trips or weekend luggage, while the digital Live Cockpit Professional keeps all vital data within the driver's eye-line.

Safety

This trim is equipped with BMW's full Active Driving Assistant, including blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and frontal collision warning, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. The 360-degree camera system makes parking this large coupe-SUV simple in tight mall spaces. It also features a comprehensive 8-airbag system and high-strength chassis construction that contributed to its 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The bottom line

For the UAE professional who wants a distinct, high-spec Sports Activity Coupe that balances performance with local market reliability, this GCC-spec X6 is a standout choice.
