Mitsubishi Attrage GLX

Highlights

• 4.8 L/100km combined fuel economy
• 450 litres boot space
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2020 Mitsubishi Attrage GLX is a prime example of the region's most popular fuel-saving sedan, finished in a white exterior that offers the highest resale demand in the GCC. While its mileage reflects active use, the 1.2L MIVEC engine is legendary for its ability to withstand high-temperature city commuting while maintaining class-leading efficiency. As a GCC-spec GLX trim, it provides a more refined interior than base models, making it a smarter choice for those who spend significant time in daily traffic. This model stands out for having one of the lowest ownership costs in the Emirates, backed by a parts network that is available in every corner of the region. It is the definitive choice for a buyer prioritizing long-term reliability and budget-conscious running over raw power.

This Car vs Other 2020 Attrages

While the mileage on this unit is above the typical GCC annual average, it indicates a vehicle that has been consistently driven, often preventing the seal and rubber issues found in low-use cars sitting in the heat. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for this model in the UAE market, ensuring significantly better value retention and faster turnover when it comes time to resell. In a segment where many cars are used for heavy delivery work, a well-maintained GCC-spec example like this remains a highly liquid asset in the used market.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim adds essential comfort features over the basic GL, including power windows, central locking, and an upgraded fabric interior that is better suited for the GCC summer. You also benefit from body-colored door handles and mirrors, giving the car a more cohesive executive look compared to the black plastic found on entry-level versions. These small upgrades significantly improve daily liveability and are highly valued by second-hand buyers across the region.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

The Attrage leads the sub-compact segment in fuel efficiency, often outperforming the Nissan Sunny and Toyota Yaris in real-world pump tests. While rivals might offer slightly larger engines, the Mitsubishi's 450-litre boot space is surprisingly competitive, offering more cargo room than many cars in the class above. Its tighter turning circle also makes it far easier to maneuver in dense parking areas like Deira or Sharjah compared to its longer-wheelbase competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are among the lowest in the GCC, with the 1.2L engine achieving a manufacturer-rated 4.8 L/100km, which translates to massive savings during high-mileage commuting between emirates. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Mitsubishi’s authorized service footprint is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are always affordable and available. Resale remains exceptionally strong for GCC-spec white sedans, with this model typically losing value at a much slower rate than European or American-spec alternatives.

Performance & Capability

With a top speed of 170 km/h and a focus on efficiency, this sedan is built for the urban environment rather than the drag strip. The INVECS-III CVT transmission is specifically tuned to keep the 3-cylinder engine in its most efficient power band, providing smooth acceleration for city driving and stable cruising at 120 km/h on the E11 highway. Its lightweight construction helps it remain agile, while the suspension is tuned to handle the speed bumps and varying road surfaces common in local residential communities.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Attrage offers a surprisingly airy cabin for five passengers, with a high roofline that provides excellent headroom for taller drivers. The air conditioning system is designed for the Middle East, capable of cooling the compact cabin rapidly even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Durable fabric seating and intuitive controls make it a practical workspace for those who spend hours behind the wheel, supported by ample legroom in the rear for a car of this footprint.

Safety

This 2020 GLX comes equipped with Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction, which effectively disperses energy during a collision. Standard safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), which are critical for maintaining control during sudden stops on sandy or rain-slicked roads. Dual front SRS airbags provide essential protection, ensuring this economical sedan meets the necessary safety requirements for GCC family use.

The bottom line

Perfect for the high-mileage commuter or first-time buyer in the UAE, this Attrage offers the ultimate combination of white-color resale strength and bulletproof Mitsubishi reliability.
