Summary

This 2020 Pajero is a rare find in the GCC market, offering exceptionally low mileage for its 6 years of age, averaging less than 4,500 km per year. As a Signature Edition in White—the region's most preferred resale color—it represents a high-value opportunity for those seeking the final iterations of this legendary nameplate. The GLS Signature Edition trim adds a layer of premium finish to the Pajero's renowned durability, making it equally suited for the school run or weekend desert crossings. For the GCC buyer, the standout advantage here is the combination of proven mechanical simplicity and a vast local parts network that ensures long-term reliability in extreme heat.

This Car vs Other 2020 Pajeros

While the average GCC vehicle of this age typically covers 120,000 km to 150,000 km, this example has traveled just 26,471 km, placing it in the top tier of available stock. The White exterior is a strategic choice for the UAE and wider GCC, as it significantly aids in heat rejection during summer and maintains the strongest resale demand. This ultra-low mileage means the major mechanical components, including the 4WD actuators and suspension bushings, have seen minimal wear compared to typical desert-driven units.

GLS H/L SIGNATURE EDI vs Lower Trims

The Signature Edition elevates the standard GLS with exclusive aesthetic enhancements and premium interior touches that GCC buyers value at resale. It typically includes upgraded leather upholstery, a sunroof, and high-gloss trim accents that distinguish it from the more utilitarian base trims. You also benefit from the full highline specification, featuring the Rockford Fosgate premium audio system and a rearview camera as standard equipment.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota Prado or Nissan Pathfinder, the Pajero offers a unique monocoque chassis with a built-in ladder frame, providing a lower center of gravity for better highway stability without sacrificing off-road toughness. Its 88-litre fuel tank is a major asset for long-distance drives across the Emirates, offering superior range between fills compared to many modern crossovers. While others have moved to soft-road biased AWD, the Pajero retains a genuine low-range transfer case for serious sand driving.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 is engineered for the 91-95 octane fuel common across the region and is noted for its ability to handle stop-start city traffic without the complexity of modern turbocharged engines. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and Mitsubishi's authorized network is one of the most extensive in the GCC, from Dubai to Muscat. As a discontinued icon, the Pajero enjoys remarkably flat depreciation curves, with Signature Edition models holding a premium in the used market.

Performance & Capability

The Super Select II 4WD system allows you to shift between 2WD and 4WD at speeds up to 100 km/h, providing essential flexibility for sudden rain or sandy patches on the highway. With 200 hp and a 3.5L V6, it offers the steady torque required for climbing dunes or overtaking on the E11. Its 225 mm ground clearance and specialized off-road modes make it one of the most capable family SUVs for exploring the UAE's wadis and deserts.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure third-row passengers stay cool in 45°C+ heat. The interior is highly versatile; the third-row seats can be stowed completely flat under the floor to maximize cargo space for family road trips. High-quality insulation helps isolate the cabin from road noise and desert heat during long highway cruises.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), which is particularly effective on loose gravel or sand. It features a robust multi-airbag system and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to manage the vehicle's weight under emergency braking. The high-seating position and large glass area provide the excellent visibility required for navigating busy GCC multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants a 'new' version of a discontinued legend, this ultra-low mileage Signature Edition is the perfect balance of rugged 4x4 capability and premium family comfort.
