Summary

This 2020 RAM 1500 Limited represents the absolute peak of luxury in the full-size pickup segment, offering a cabin experience that rivals high-end European SUVs. With 106,000 km on the clock, this GCC-spec truck has been ideally utilized for regional highway commutes and is well within the typical lifespan of a robust American V8. The black exterior is a premier choice for the GCC market, ensuring strong presence and high resale liquidity when it comes time to trade up. For a buyer in the UAE, this truck balances rugged utility with executive comfort, making it just as suitable for long-distance desert road trips as it is for city commuting. As a Limited trim, it is the most feature-rich version available, ensuring you have every available luxury for the intense summer months.

This Car vs Other 2020 RAM 1500s

At 106,000 km, this truck sits at a very typical mileage for a four-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance highway driving between emirates is the norm. The black paint is a high-demand resale color in the local market, offering better value retention than more niche shades. Being a genuine GCC-spec model, it features the factory-optimized cooling and AC systems essential for maintaining performance during peak summer temperatures.

LIMITED vs Lower Trims

The Limited trim is a significant step above the Laramie, adding the Active-Level four-corner air suspension for a smoother ride and adjustable ground clearance. Inside, you move from standard leather to premium Natura Plus leather, complemented by a 12-inch vertical Uconnect touchscreen and the flagship 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. It also includes the wireless charging pad and power-deployable running boards that are often missing on lower trims.

RAM 1500 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Ford F-150 Platinum or GMC Sierra Denali, the RAM 1500 Limited leads with its coil-spring rear suspension which provides a much more refined, car-like ride on UAE highways. Its interior is widely regarded as the most luxurious in the segment, featuring genuine wood accents and metal trim that surpass the plastic-heavy cabins of its rivals. The 125-litre fuel tank provides a massive range, ideal for cross-border journeys or long desert weekends.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.7L HEMI V8 features Multi-Displacement System (MDS) technology, which deactivates four cylinders during highway cruising to optimize fuel consumption on long stretches like the E11. Maintenance is straightforward across the GCC, with a wide network of authorized service centers in all major UAE cities and readily available parts. RAM trucks, particularly in top-tier Limited trim, hold their value exceptionally well in the regional used market due to their dual-purpose role as luxury family vehicles and workhorses.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this truck is the legendary 5.7L HEMI V8, delivering 395 hp and a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.7 seconds—impressive for a vehicle of this scale. With a maximum braked towing capacity of 5,203 kg, it is perfectly equipped for hauling large boats or trailers across the region. The selectable 4WD system and air suspension allow for effortless transitions from smooth asphalt to soft sand surfaces.

Comfort & Cabin

The Limited cabin is designed for ultimate comfort in the GCC climate, featuring both heated and ventilated front seats as standard to combat the summer heat. The rear seating is exceptionally spacious with its own dedicated climate vents and power-sliding rear window for added airflow. Acoustic glass and active noise cancellation ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary, even at high cruising speeds on the motorway.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a full suite of driver assistance features including Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path and Trailer Detection, which is invaluable on fast-moving multi-lane highways. It also features a 360-degree Surround View Camera to assist with parking in tight city spaces and Adaptive Cruise Control for relaxed long-distance driving. Multiple airbags and electronic stability control with roll mitigation provide peace of mind for family trips.

The bottom line

For the buyer who refuses to choose between a heavy-duty workhorse and a luxury executive vehicle, this GCC-spec Limited trim RAM is the perfect regional choice.
