• 510 km maximum range (NEDC)
• Six seats with second-row captain chairs

Summary

This 2021 Hongqi E-HS9 Flagship is a compelling entry into the ultra-luxury EV space, offering a commanding road presence that rivals the most established European marques. With only 15,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the 100,000 km typically expected for its five years of age in the GCC. The Black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local market, ensuring strong resale appeal and a timeless aesthetic. As the top-tier Flagship trim, it delivers a level of cabin technology and materials that few rivals can match at this price point. For a GCC buyer, the combination of low mileage and the remainder of its specialized battery coverage makes this a secure and prestigious choice for family or executive use.

This Car vs Other 2021 EHS9s

At 15,000 km, this E-HS9 is a rare find in a region where annual highway commuting often exceeds 20,000 km. While most 2021 models are approaching their first major tire and cooling system checks, this example feels functionally new. The Black-on-Black configuration is the most searched-for color pallet in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, providing a significant advantage in value retention over lighter or more niche tones.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim transforms the E-HS9 from a premium SUV into a true limousine, most notably adding the ventilated and massaging second-row captain chairs which are essential for GCC summers. It also upgrades the cabin to include the full-width digital dashboard and premium Nappa leather upholstery. Unlike the standard trims, the Flagship includes the intelligent air suspension system, providing the necessary ground clearance adjustment for varied terrain.

EHS9 vs Segment Rivals

The E-HS9 competes directly with the Tesla Model X and BMW iX, yet leads the segment in physical presence and rear-seat luxury. Its 3,110 mm wheelbase provides superior legroom for middle-row passengers compared to almost any electric rival in the market. While rivals favor a minimalist approach, the Hongqi offers a more traditional sense of opulence through its heavy use of wood, leather, and physical comfort features tailored for executive transport.

Running Costs & Resale

Charging the 99 kWh battery in Dubai via DEWA infrastructure offers a substantial saving over refueling a comparable V8 luxury SUV, typically costing less than a quarter of the price per kilometer. Hongqi has established a robust authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia through major distributors, ensuring reliable parts availability. While Chinese luxury EVs see a steeper initial depreciation than Japanese rivals, the low mileage on this specific unit buffers its value against the wider market.

Performance & Capability

Despite its substantial footprint, the 543 horsepower dual-motor system propels the E-HS9 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed GCC motorways. The All-Wheel Drive system is paired with seven selectable drive modes, including an 'All Terrain' mode that works in tandem with the air suspension to navigate gravel and light sand with confidence. Its 200 km/h top speed is electronically governed, ensuring stability during long-distance drives between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The six-seat layout is the most desirable configuration, featuring a center aisle that makes the third row genuinely accessible for families. High-performance quad-zone climate control is specifically designed to manage the heat load of the large panoramic glass roof, ensuring the cabin remains chilled even in mid-summer. Acoustic double-glazing isolates the interior from road noise, creating a quiet sanctuary that complements the silent electric powertrain.

Safety

The Flagship is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, which is highly effective for the long, straight highway stretches common in the GCC. It features a high-definition 360-degree camera system that is vital for maneuvering a vehicle of this size into tight urban parking spots. Safety is further bolstered by front and rear side airbags, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking as standard.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking the prestige of a flagship luxury SUV with the efficiency of an EV, available now with exceptionally low mileage and a high-resale color profile.
