Summary

This 2021 Hyundai Azera Premium is a standout choice for buyers seeking executive-level luxury without the Genesis price tag. At 5 years old, its mileage reflects typical GCC highway use, while the sleek black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the local market. As the flagship sedan, it offers a sophisticated 3.5L V6 engine that provides smooth, effortless power ideal for long-distance commutes between Emirates. With the Premium trim, you gain high-end technology and comfort features that rival European luxury brands, making it one of the most complete packages available in the used sedan market today.

This Car vs Other 2021 Azeras

At 115,000 km, this Azera has been driven approximately 23,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the average GCC annual usage of 20,000–25,000 km. While many Azeras in the market are entry-level trims used for fleet services, this is a privately maintained Premium specimen. The midnight black finish is a major advantage for local buyers, as it consistently commands higher demand and better price retention than lighter or non-metallic colors.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the Smart and Mid options by adding essential GCC luxuries like ventilated front seats and a full panoramic sunroof. It further differentiates itself with a 360-degree camera system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an upgraded Infinity premium audio system. These high-spec features are exactly what second-hand buyers in the UAE prioritize, ensuring the car feels modern and holds its value better than base models.

Azera vs Segment Rivals

The Azera competes directly with the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima, leading the segment in terms of interior tech and digital screen real estate for the 2021 model year. Its 70-liter fuel tank is specifically designed for long-distance GCC travel, offering a greater cruising range than many compact rivals. Additionally, the Azera’s cabin insulation is widely regarded as superior to the Maxima, providing a quieter environment for high-speed highway driving.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 returns a balanced fuel consumption of approximately 9.7 L/100km, performing efficiently on long highway stretches. Maintenance is highly convenient across the GCC, with an extensive network of authorized service centers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Hyundai's flagship sedans enjoy a stable depreciation curve in the local market, typically retaining more value than their American counterparts like the Chevrolet Impala.

Performance & Capability

The 290 hp V6 engine allows for a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 7.4 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. Power is delivered through a seamless 8-speed automatic transmission that is tuned for smoothness rather than aggression. Multiple drive modes, including a Sport setting, allow the driver to adjust steering weight and throttle response to suit city traffic or open road conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Azera is designed for maximum summer comfort with a powerful dual-zone climate control system and dedicated rear AC vents. The Premium trim features leather upholstery with memory settings and ventilated seats, a critical feature for the extreme heat of the UAE. The cabin is further enhanced by 64-color ambient lighting and a wireless charging pad, creating a high-tech lounge feel for all five passengers.

Safety

This trim is equipped with the full Hyundai SmartSense suite, providing essential protection for fast-paced GCC driving. Key features include Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. The 360-degree camera and rear cross-traffic alert make parking in tight urban spaces effortless, while the adaptive cruise control is a massive benefit for reducing fatigue on long desert highway drives.

The bottom line

For the executive who wants the space and features of a luxury brand with the reliability and easy maintenance of a Hyundai, this high-spec Azera is the ideal choice. Its excellent color and trim combination make it a safe investment with strong future resale potential.
