Summary

This 2021 RAM 1500 TRX Luxury is the defining performance pickup for the GCC, blending supercar-rivaling acceleration with specialized desert-running hardware. With its black-on-black aesthetic, it offers strong resale appeal in a market that prizes aggressive styling and high-output V8 engines. The Luxury trim (TR2 package) elevates the experience with ventilated leather seating and premium tech, making it as comfortable for long hauls to Riyadh as it is capable in the dunes. For the GCC buyer, the TRX stands alone as a vehicle that handles extreme summer heat and demanding terrain without breaking a sweat, provided its specialized maintenance needs are met.

This Car vs Other 2021 RAM 1500s

At 81,000 km over 5 years, this TRX has been driven roughly 16,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. While standard 1500s are often used as daily commuters, a TRX at this mileage suggests it has been preserved as a secondary performance vehicle. The Black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, often commanding a quicker sale than brighter launch colors.

TRX LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The TRX Luxury (TR2 Package) transforms the cabin from a performance-focused space into a high-end suite. It adds essential GCC comfort features such as ventilated front and rear seats, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a digital rearview mirror. Unlike the base TRX or Rebel trims, the Luxury spec includes a Head-Up Display and a 360-degree camera system, which are vital for maneuvering such a wide-bodied truck in tight urban spaces.

1500 vs Segment Rivals

The TRX competes directly with the Ford F-150 Raptor and the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. While the Raptor relies on a V6 or a higher-priced R variant, the TRX offers the legendary 6.2L Supercharged HEMI as standard, providing a significant power advantage. Its 125-litre fuel tank is specifically suited for the long-distance desert crossings common in the region, offering more range than many naturally aspirated competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 19.6L/100km, which can climb during spirited desert driving or in heavy city traffic. Authorized service centers for RAM are widely available across the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, with recommended service intervals typically every 12,000 km. The TRX holds its value exceptionally well in the GCC due to its 'halo' status and the discontinuation of the V8 engine in newer models, making it a potential modern classic.

Performance & Capability

The TRX is a marvel of engineering, delivering 702 hp and a top speed of 190 km/h. It features a specialized 4x4 system with eight drive modes, including 'Baja' for high-speed sand runs and 'Rock' for technical climbs. With a 32-inch (812 mm) wading depth and massive 15-inch front brakes, it is built to handle the most punishing off-road conditions in the region while remaining composed on the E11 highway.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for ultimate summer comfort, featuring high-performance air conditioning and insulated glass to keep the desert heat at bay. The 12-inch vertical Uconnect touchscreen is a centerpiece of the interior, providing intuitive navigation across the Emirates. Premium leather and carbon fiber accents ensure that the interior feels as special as the performance suggests, even on long cross-border drives.

Safety

Standard safety tech on the TRX Luxury includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Trailer Detection—essential for safe highway overtaking. The truck is built on a reinforced high-strength steel frame and features 360-degree camera coverage to eliminate the blind spots inherent in a wide-body pickup. Standard front and side-curtain airbags provide comprehensive protection for all five passengers.

The bottom line

This TRX is the perfect match for a GCC enthusiast seeking the peak of V8 performance with a sensible mileage profile. It represents a rare opportunity to own the 'Apex Predator' of pickups in its most desirable luxury specification.
