Summary

This 2022 Audi A7 55 TFSI Sportback is a standout luxury hatchback, offering a perfect balance of performance and long-distance comfort for the GCC. With its sleek 'four-door coupe' design and powerful V6 engine, it provides a more versatile alternative to traditional executive sedans. This specific model features a high-demand grey exterior that maintains strong resale appeal across the region. Having covered 121,700 km, it has been primarily used for highway driving, which is common and often preferred for keeping the powertrain at optimal operating temperatures. For a buyer looking for a sophisticated, tech-forward grand tourer that handles the summer heat with ease, this A7 is a highly compelling choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 Audi A7s

At 121,700 km, this A7’s mileage is average for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance commutes between emirates are common. The grey exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, offering excellent heat reflection and maintaining a higher residual value than brighter colors. This vehicle represents a well-maintained example of Audi's modern design era, benefiting from the latest cabin architecture and mild-hybrid efficiency.

55 TFSI SPORTBACK vs Lower Trims

The 55 TFSI trim is a significant step up from the base 45 TFSI, replacing the four-cylinder engine with a much more robust 3.0L V6 turbo. This upgrade is essential for GCC drivers who prioritize effortless highway overtaking and smoother power delivery during high-temperature months. Additionally, this trim level typically includes the Audi Virtual Cockpit, larger 20-inch alloy wheels, and premium leather finishes that are often optional on lower-spec models.

Audi A7 vs Segment Rivals

The A7 competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz CLS and the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe. It leads the segment in practicality thanks to its 535-litre hatchback boot, which provides significantly more usable space than its rivals' traditional sedan trunks. Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system is also widely regarded for its superior stability on the sandy or rain-slicked roads occasionally encountered in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this mild-hybrid V6 averages around 9.5 L/100km, making it efficient for its power class during long highway drives. Service intervals are typically set at 15,000 km, with a wide network of authorized Audi service centers available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European luxury cars generally see a 12-15% annual depreciation in the GCC, the A7's unique Sportback silhouette helps it retain value better than standard executive sedans.

Performance & Capability

With 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque, this A7 reaches 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, providing sports-car performance in a luxury package. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, ensuring stable and quiet cruising at the UAE's maximum legal limits. The 48V mild-hybrid system assists with coasting and smooth engine restarts, further refining the stop-start city driving experience in major metropolitan areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a showcase of German engineering, featuring the dual-screen MMI touch response system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Standard ventilated front seats and a powerful three-zone climate control system ensure maximum comfort even during the peak of the GCC summer. The interior is insulated with acoustic glass, significantly reducing road noise during high-speed travel between cities.

Safety

This A7 is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, which is ideal for heavy traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. Additional safety features include lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, and a 360-degree camera system for easy parking in tight urban spaces. It consistently achieves high safety marks in international testing, providing peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

This A7 is the ideal match for an executive or style-conscious buyer who needs more practicality than a sedan offers without sacrificing the prestige of a high-performance German V6.
