Summary

This 2022 Hyundai Creta GL is a standout choice for those seeking a modern SUV that balances fuel efficiency with urban practicality. With 114,000 km, it has been driven slightly above the GCC annual average, yet it remains a highly durable asset thanks to Hyundai's robust regional service network. The Burgundy exterior offers a sophisticated alternative to the common silver and white cars, while still maintaining respectable resale desirability in the UAE market. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer temperatures with an air conditioning system optimized for the local climate. For buyers in the Emirates or across the border, this Creta provides the reliability of a newer model year at a price point that makes it a smart daily driver.

This Car vs Other 2022 Hyundai Cretas

At 114,000 km, this vehicle reflects a highway-commuter profile typical for residents traveling between emirates. While the mileage is higher than the strictly average 20,000 km per year, it is well within the mechanical limits of Hyundai's 1.5L powertrain. The Burgundy paint is a premium color choice that helps it stand out in a market saturated with neutral tones, adding a unique touch for the next owner.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim offers essential GCC upgrades over the base fleet versions, including a touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control for easier long-distance highway drives. It also features rear parking sensors and a multifunction steering wheel, providing a significantly more convenient daily driving experience than entry-level workhorse variants.

Creta vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Kicks and Kia Seltos, the Creta leads with a generous 433-litre boot that is widely regarded as one of the most usable in its class. Its 190 mm ground clearance also gives it a slight edge when navigating the speed breakers and uneven parking areas common in developing suburban communities across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a major strength, with an official combined rating of 5.9 L/100km, ensuring low running costs even with long commutes. Hyundai's authorized service centers are widely available across every major GCC city, meaning parts and maintenance are affordable and accessible. The Creta historically holds its value well in the local used market, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European sub-compact SUV rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre engine is tuned for smooth power delivery in stop-start city traffic, while the automatic transmission ensures a relaxed driving experience. With 115 horsepower, it manages highway speeds comfortably while maintaining excellent thermal efficiency. The 190 mm ground clearance is particularly useful for urban utility, allowing you to clear obstacles with confidence during your daily commute.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for five passengers, featuring a high seating position that provides excellent visibility on busy multi-lane roads. The air conditioning system is specifically designed for the GCC, ensuring rapid cabin cooling even when outside temperatures exceed 45°C. Generous rear legroom makes it a practical choice for small families or those who frequently transport adult passengers.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GCC-spec GL include dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Stability Control to help maintain traction on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. It also includes ISOFIX child seat anchors and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which is vital for maintaining safety during the high-heat summer months on UAE highways.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious commuter or small family, this GCC-spec Creta offers the ideal blend of modern features and proven reliability in a stylish Burgundy package.
