Summary

This 2022 Kia Seltos LX offers the ideal balance of modern design and urban practicality for the GCC driver. Finished in white, the most preferred color for local resale and heat reflection, it stands out in its segment for providing genuine SUV ride height in a compact, easy-to-park footprint. The 1.6-litre engine is engineered for efficiency, making it a smart choice for daily commutes in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. With Kia's reputation for reliability and a vast regional service network, this crossover represents a secure long-term investment for small families or young professionals.

This Car vs Other 2022 Seltoss

With 90,000 km, this vehicle reflects average highway use typical of the GCC region, where annual travel often exceeds global averages. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, ensuring the best possible heat management and high buyer demand at resale. Its condition and regional specification make it a reliable alternative to newer models with higher price points.

LX vs Lower Trims

The LX serves as a well-rounded entry point, providing essential tech like a touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration which are often absent in base-fleet variants. Unlike lower utility-focused trims, the LX includes features such as alloy wheels and a rearview camera that significantly improve the daily driving experience and local market appeal.

Seltos vs Segment Rivals

The Seltos leads rivals like the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Kona by offering one of the largest cargo capacities in the subcompact class, measuring 433 litres with all seats in place. Its upright SUV stance provides better visibility than lower-slung crossovers, a major advantage when navigating multi-lane GCC highways alongside larger SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a core strength, with the 1.6-litre powertrain typically averaging around 6.9 to 7.4 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Kia’s extensive service network across the UAE and KSA ensures that parts are readily available and maintenance costs remain predictable compared to European competitors. This model year enjoys stable value retention, historically holding approximately 55-60% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 123 hp engine is paired with a smooth automatic transmission, delivering a civilised and user-friendly experience in stop-start city traffic. While designed primarily for the road, its 190mm ground clearance is ample for handling speed humps, gravel tracks, and weekend trips to suburban areas. The front-wheel-drive setup is optimized for fuel economy, making it a capable companion for long-distance highway cruises between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is surprisingly spacious for a compact SUV, offering reclining rear seats that are a rarity in this segment, providing extra comfort for adult passengers. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for the extreme GCC summer heat, supported by a well-insulated cabin that keeps road noise at bay during city transit. High-quality cloth upholstery ensures the seats remain cool even when the car is parked in direct sunlight.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with standard features including ABS, Electronic Stability Control, and multiple airbags to protect all five occupants. The LX trim also includes a rearview camera and rear parking sensors, which are essential for navigating tight parking spots in busy urban centers. Its 5-star ANCAP safety rating (2019) provides peace of mind for families seeking a secure and modern transport solution.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Seltos is the perfect opportunity for a buyer seeking a reliable, high-resale SUV that handles the local climate and city traffic with ease.
