Summary

This Nissan Patrol Nismo represents a specialized performance-oriented version of a GCC legend, offering a high-performance 8-cylinder engine that commands respect on any highway from Dubai to Riyadh. With 130,000 km, this unit has been driven extensively across the region’s long-distance routes, a common trait for high-end SUVs in the UAE where highway-heavy usage is the norm. The black exterior is highly sought after in the secondary market, ensuring this car maintains a strong resale profile compared to niche color options. As a Nismo trim, it delivers a unique balance of race-inspired suspension tuning and the rugged dependability the Patrol is famous for, making it a standout choice for those who want status and speed without sacrificing reliability. Buyers in the GCC value this specific model for its exceptional cabin cooling and its ability to handle 50-degree summers while maintaining peak performance. This listing is a rare opportunity to own a modern Nismo variant that has already proven its durability across the region's demanding landscape.

This Car vs Other 2022 Patrols

At 130,000 km, this vehicle has covered more ground than the average 2022 model, but in the GCC context, this often indicates consistent highway commuting between Emirates rather than harsh city stop-start wear. This level of usage is typical for a primary family vehicle or an executive cruiser in this region, where annual distances often exceed 30,000 km. While lower-mileage examples exist, they often command a significant price premium that may not be justified given the legendary longevity of the Nissan V8 powertrain. The black exterior is a major advantage here, as it remains one of the top three most liquid colors for resale in the local market. Choosing this specific year and trim ensures you get the updated digital interior architecture while benefiting from a more accessible entry point due to the mileage profile. It represents a practical choice for a buyer who plans to continue using the car for long-distance regional travel where mechanical provenance matters more than the odometer reading.

NISMO vs Lower Trims

The Nismo trim is a significant leap over the standard XE, SE, or even the Platinum V8 variants, primarily due to its Takumi-tuned engine and Bilstein sports suspension. While lower trims are built for general utility, the Nismo adds a bespoke body kit with functional aerodynamics and signature red accents that heighten its road presence. Inside, the cabin receives a premium Alcantara and leather treatment that is far more tactile and durable under the intense GCC sun compared to the standard leather. You also get the Bose premium audio system as standard, which provides superior acoustic clarity over the base Nissan units found in lower grades. The steering wheel is finished in Alcantara with a red center stripe, providing a better grip during the hotter months when standard leather can become slippery. This trim is designed for the buyer who wants the capability of a Patrol but requires the prestige and sharpened driving dynamics of a sports-tuned SUV.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol Nismo competes directly with top-tier V8 SUVs like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300-series GR Sport and the Lexus LX. While rivals offer impressive tech, the Patrol Nismo is often preferred in the GCC for its superior cabin volume and the sheer comfort of its wide seating arrangement. Its fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, which is a massive advantage for cross-border trips where petrol stations can be sparse. The air conditioning system in the Patrol is historically regarded as the most powerful in the segment, capable of cooling an 8-passenger cabin faster than almost any European or American competitor. Additionally, the Nismo's suspension offers a unique road-hugging feel that the more off-road focused trims of rivals lack. It remains the powertrain of choice for those who value the smooth, natural aspiration of a big-displacement V8 over the turbocharged V6 engines found in many newer competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6-liter V8 engine is built for durability but does require a budget for higher fuel consumption, averaging around 14 to 16 liters per 100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. On the long-haul highways connecting Abu Dhabi to Al Ain, this figure can improve, but city traffic in Dubai will see higher consumption. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully supported by an extensive network of authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are always readily available. Resale value for the Patrol is among the highest in the world within the GCC market, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than European luxury SUVs. After three years, a well-maintained Nismo retains a higher percentage of its value than almost any other performance SUV. Regular servicing at 10,000 km intervals is standard, and the mechanical simplicity of this platform compared to complex hybrids means long-term maintenance costs are relatively predictable.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is a 428-horsepower V8 engine that provides effortless overtaking power on the 140 km/h motorways of the region. It features a specialized Nismo-tuned suspension system that reduces body roll, making it surprisingly agile for a vehicle of this size. Despite its sporty modifications, it retains an authentic low-range transfer case and locking differentials, making it a genuine 4x4 capable of tackling the dunes of the Empty Quarter or the Liwa Desert. The 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved with a distinct V8 growl that is unique to the Nismo exhaust tuning. In addition to high-speed stability, it offers high ground clearance that allows it to navigate rugged wadi terrain or construction zones with ease. For family outings, it provides the towing capacity needed for jet skis or camping trailers, making it the ultimate multi-purpose vehicle for the GCC lifestyle.

Comfort & Cabin

This is a true 8-seater SUV, offering massive interior volume spread across three rows with a configuration that ensures even adult passengers are comfortable in the rear. The HVAC system is specifically engineered for the Gulf market, featuring powerful rear cooling vents and dedicated controls for back-seat passengers. The Nismo seats are wider and more supportive than the standard model, finished in high-quality materials that resist heat absorption during summer months. Excellent cabin insulation keeps the desert wind noise and road hum to a minimum, creating a serene environment for long-distance family travel. The inclusion of a sunroof and premium ambient lighting adds a touch of modern luxury to the functional, rugged heritage of the vehicle. For the driver, the cockpit is laid out ergonomically with all essential controls situated within easy reach, perfect for long stints behind the wheel.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the 2022 Nismo, featuring a comprehensive suite of Intelligent Mobility features tailored for fast-moving GCC traffic. Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning are invaluable for the long, straight highways of the region, helping to mitigate driver fatigue. Blind Spot Warning and Intelligent Lane Intervention provide critical assistance when navigating multi-lane urban expressways. The 360-degree Around View Monitor is standard, making it much easier to park this large SUV in tight mall parking spaces. It also includes multiple airbags and reinforced side-impact protection, which contributes to its reputation as one of the safest family vehicles on the market. These active systems work together to provide a safety net that many base-model SUVs in this segment only offer as expensive optional extras.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs the legendary reliability of a Patrol but wants the exclusive performance and presence of the Nismo badge, this 2022 model is the perfect balance of prestige and utility. It is an ideal choice for a high-mileage commuter or a large family that demands the best-in-class cooling and resale security that only a GCC-spec Nissan can provide.
