Summary

This Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 is a rare find in the GCC market, offering the legendary naturally aspirated flat-six engine that purists demand. With its black-on-black configuration and mid-engine balance, it provides one of the most rewarding driving experiences available in the UAE. At 4 years old with 33,603 km, its mileage is significantly below the GCC annual average, suggesting it has been kept as a weekend enthusiast car rather than a daily commuter. This specific GTS trim bridges the gap between everyday usability and track-ready performance, making it a standout choice for those who value mechanical purity. For a buyer in the region, the combination of GCC specifications and the desirable GTS 4.0 powertrain ensures both strong local support and excellent future resale potential.

This Car vs Other 2022 718 Boxsters

At 33,603 km, this 718 Boxster has been driven roughly 8,400 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the GCC market where 20,000 km is the standard. The black exterior is a high-demand color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, significantly aiding in value retention compared to brighter, niche shades. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the insurance and warranty complications often found with North American imports.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS 4.0 represents a massive leap over the Boxster S, replacing the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a high-revving 4.0-liter flat-six. It adds essential performance hardware as standard, including the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with a 20mm lower ride height, and a mechanical limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring. Inside, you receive GTS-specific Alcantara upholstery and Sport Seats Plus, which provide superior support during spirited drives through Jabal Hafeet or the Hatta mountains.

718 Boxster vs Segment Rivals

The 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 faces competition from the BMW Z4 M40i and the Lotus Emira. While the BMW offers more trunk space and the Lotus provides exotic looks, the Porsche leads with its mid-engine balance and the mechanical pedigree of its naturally aspirated engine. It also benefits from the most robust authorized service network in the GCC compared to boutique rivals like Lotus.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0-liter flat-six is approximately 12.2 L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic may see this rise. Porsche's authorized service centers are widely available across major GCC cities like Dubai, Riyadh, and Kuwait City, with standard service intervals every 15,000 km. The GTS 4.0 models have shown remarkable value retention in the local market, typically depreciating at a slower rate than standard turbocharged trims due to their discontinued naturally aspirated status.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h time of just 4.0 seconds, this roadster offers supercar-level acceleration paired with a top speed of 288 km/h. The rear-wheel-drive layout and PDK automatic transmission provide lightning-fast shifts that are perfect for overtaking on the E11 or enjoying a weekend track session. The naturally aspirated engine delivers linear power all the way to its 7,800 rpm redline, providing a soundtrack that turbocharged rivals cannot match.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for two, the cabin is focused entirely on the driver with premium materials that withstand the intense GCC summer heat. The GTS-specific interior features Alcantara contact points that stay cooler than traditional leather, while the dual-zone climate control is engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even with the top down during cooler months. Despite its sporty nature, the 718 provides two luggage compartments (frunk and trunk) totaling 270 liters, which is plenty for a weekend getaway between Emirates.

Safety

This 718 Boxster GTS is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and high-performance cross-drilled brakes that offer fade-free stopping power in high temperatures. Front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera make navigating tight city parking in Dubai Marina effortless. Passive safety is handled by high-strength steel roll-over protection and a multi-stage airbag system designed for maximum occupant protection in an open-top vehicle.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who refuses to compromise on engine character, this low-mileage, GCC-spec GTS 4.0 is the definitive choice before the model line transitions to electric power.
