Summary

This 2022 RAM 1500 TRX represents the definitive desert-conquering pickup, offering a massive leap in hardware and presence over any other half-ton truck in the GCC. With only 31,000 km, this vehicle is exceptionally low-mileage for a 2022 model, sitting well below the typical 50,000–60,000 km expected for a truck of this age in the UAE. The vibrant Red exterior is a standout choice in a market dominated by white and silver, ensuring strong visibility and aesthetic appeal. Built specifically to dominate open dunes and high-speed highway stretches, it provides a level of cooling and suspension travel that standard trucks simply cannot match. For the buyer who demands the highest factory performance available in a pickup, this GCC-spec example is a prime opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 RAM 1500s

While the average 2022 pickup in the GCC has likely covered over 50,000 km, this TRX has been driven just 31,000 km, making it a low-mileage standout. Its GCC specification is a critical advantage for local buyers, ensuring the cooling systems and radio frequencies are optimized for the region. The Red paint provides a unique alternative to the common fleet colors, often helping these performance variants stand out in the resale market.

TRX vs Lower Trims

The TRX is a completely different machine compared to the Rebel or Laramie, featuring a frame reinforced with high-strength steel and a track that is 8 inches wider. It adds Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers and 35-inch all-terrain tires as standard, hardware that is not available on any other trim. Inside, you get the performance-oriented flat-bottom steering wheel and upgraded bolstered seats designed for high-speed off-road stability.

RAM 1500 vs Segment Rivals

Against the Ford F-150 Raptor and Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, the TRX leads with a significantly more advanced suspension system and a wider stance for better high-speed stability. Its cabin tech, centered around the vertical 12-inch Uconnect display, is widely considered the most intuitive in the segment for long GCC highway drives. The RAM also offers a more refined coil-spring rear suspension, providing a smoother unladen ride than its leaf-sprung competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

As a specialized performance vehicle, fuel consumption reflects its massive power, particularly in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. However, the GCC spec ensures that the vehicle retains value significantly better than American-spec imports, which often face warranty and service hurdles locally. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by an extensive network of authorized service centers across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring parts availability remains high for this flagship model.

Performance & Capability

The TRX is engineered for the desert, featuring a 300 mm ground clearance and specialized Baja and Sand modes that recalibrate the four-wheel-drive system for loose terrain. It offers a robust 3,674 kg towing capacity, making it as practical for hauling boats to the coast as it is for weekend dune bashing. The Bilstein adaptive shocks provide nearly 14 inches of rear wheel travel, allowing it to soak up imperfections at speeds that would stop other trucks.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for the GCC climate, the cabin features a powerful dual-zone climate control system and high-quality insulation to keep the heat at bay. The five-seat layout is spacious, with a flat rear floor providing ample legroom for adult passengers during long cross-country trips. Premium materials, including carbon fiber accents and Alcantara, elevate the interior beyond a typical work truck into a luxury environment.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive, featuring a 360-degree camera system that is vital for maneuvering such a wide vehicle in tight city parking. It comes standard with Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection, which are essential for safety on fast-moving UAE highways. The heavy-duty braking system is specifically tuned to handle the vehicle's weight and performance during high-temperature driving conditions.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who wants the most capable desert-ready pickup in the region, this low-mileage, GCC-spec TRX is a rare find that combines brutal performance with everyday luxury.
