Summary

This 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser GXR is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, combining legendary reliability with the modern refinements of the 300-series generation. With a white exterior—the most sought-after and heat-reflective color in the region—it offers maximum resale protection and practical cooling benefits. The GXR trim strikes the perfect balance for daily family duties and desert adventures, providing essential premium features without the excessive complexity of higher-tier variants. Given the massive demand for this model across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, finding a well-maintained GCC-spec example with this configuration is a significant advantage. This specific vehicle represents the quintessential GCC SUV, designed to thrive in extreme heat while retaining a value profile that outclasses almost every other vehicle on the road today. For a buyer looking for a long-term asset that serves as both a luxury commuter and a weekend explorer, this listing is exceptionally compelling.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

When comparing this vehicle to other 2022 Land Cruiser models in the used market, the mileage is perfectly aligned with typical GCC driving patterns, where 25,000 to 30,000 km per year is the standard for primary family SUVs. Many 2022 units have been pushed much harder across international borders or for heavy commercial use, but this example shows the careful maintenance expected of a privately owned GCC-spec vehicle. The white exterior is a strategic choice for any buyer in this region, as it is widely considered the gold standard for resale value in Dubai and Riyadh, often commanding a premium over less popular colors. Because this is a 2022 model, it benefits from the latest chassis engineering and weight reduction introduced in the 300-series, making it more agile than the older 200-series models you might find at a similar price point. Choosing this specific unit ensures you are getting a modern, post-redesign vehicle that is still well within its primary service life.

GXR vs Lower Trims

Moving into the GXR trim provides a substantial upgrade over the entry-level EXR, adding the specific features that GCC buyers value most for comfort and prestige. The GXR introduces enhanced interior materials and superior climate control capabilities that are essential during the peak of the Arabian summer. You also get a more sophisticated infotainment interface and improved driver assistance features that make navigating busy highways like Sheikh Zayed Road much less taxing. While lower trims are often stripped back for fleet use, the GXR is designed for the private owner, featuring better sound insulation and more refined exterior aesthetics such as upgraded wheels and chrome accents. This trim level is the 'sweet spot' in the Land Cruiser lineup, offering the premium feel of a luxury SUV without the significantly higher price tag of the VXR or GR-Sport editions, while still ensuring you have all the necessary tools for off-road excursions.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser consistently leads its primary competitors, such as the Nissan Patrol and the Land Rover Defender, particularly when it comes to long-term durability in the harsh GCC environment. While the Nissan Patrol offers a compelling V8 alternative, the Land Cruiser 300-series GXR benefits from a more modern chassis and a lighter footprint, which aids in sand flotation and fuel efficiency during long-range cruising. Compared to European rivals like the Defender or the BMW X7, the Toyota offers a vastly superior service network that spans from small towns in Oman to the largest cities in Saudi Arabia. The Land Cruiser also features a fuel tank capacity designed specifically for the vast distances of the Arabian Peninsula, allowing for fewer stops on cross-country trips between Emirates. Its cooling system is widely regarded as the best in the world, capable of maintaining a freezing cabin temperature even when the outside air exceeds 50 degrees Celsius, a feat many luxury European SUVs struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for a GCC-spec Land Cruiser are remarkably predictable, thanks to the most extensive parts and service network in the Middle East. Toyota parts are available at multiple price points, and every major city in the GCC has several authorized service centers, ensuring you are never far from expert care. The 4.0L V6 engine is a masterpiece of efficiency and reliability, designed to run on standard local petrol grades without the sensitivity found in high-performance European turbocharged engines. In terms of depreciation, the Land Cruiser is the undisputed king of the GCC; it typically loses value at nearly half the rate of its luxury rivals, often retaining up to 85% of its value after three years of ownership. This makes the total cost of ownership—when factoring in resale price—significantly lower than almost any other vehicle in the SUV/Crossover segment. Buyers can rest easy knowing that their investment is protected by a brand name that is synonymous with currency in the regional automotive market.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood, the 271 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power delivery that is perfectly suited for both city traffic and highway overtaking. The 300-series platform has been re-engineered to be lighter and stiffer, which translates to much better handling on paved roads than previous generations while maintaining its legendary off-road prowess. This GXR is equipped with a genuine low-range transfer case and a sophisticated All Wheel Drive system, making it a formidable tool for desert dune bashing or exploring wadis. The 0-100 km/h performance is more than adequate for a vehicle of this size, but its real strength lies in its torque delivery and towing capacity, allowing it to haul trailers or boats with ease. Ground clearance is best-in-class, ensuring that high curbs or deep sand tracks are never an obstacle. Whether you are commuting through the heart of Riyadh or camping in the Liwa desert, this vehicle provides a sense of mechanical invincibility that few other SUVs can replicate.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of this Land Cruiser is a sanctuary designed for seven passengers, offering a flexible seating arrangement that accommodates large families or significant cargo loads. The air conditioning system is a high-output unit specifically tuned for GCC heat, featuring rear vents that ensure third-row passengers stay as cool as those in the front. Cabin insulation has been significantly improved in this generation, greatly reducing wind and road noise during high-speed highway travel across the Emirates. The seats are designed for long-distance comfort, providing excellent lumbar support for those three-hour drives between cities. High-quality materials are used throughout the touchpoints, giving the GXR a premium feel that stands up well to the wear and tear of family life. With all seats in use, there is still manageable space for groceries, and with the third row folded flat, the boot capacity becomes cavernous, easily swallowing camping gear, sports equipment, or luggage for a week-long road trip.

Safety

Safety is a paramount feature of the 2022 Land Cruiser, which carries a 5-Star NCAP rating and a suite of active protection systems. This GXR comes equipped with multiple airbags, including side-curtain coverage for all three rows, providing peace of mind for family transporters. Advanced stability and traction control systems are specifically calibrated to handle varying surfaces, from slick rain-slicked tarmac to loose desert sand. The braking system has been enhanced for the 300-series, offering shorter stopping distances and better heat dissipation during heavy use. Standard safety tech on this trim includes parking sensors and a high-definition rearview camera, which are essential for maneuvering such a large vehicle in tight urban parking structures. Toyota's commitment to safety ensures that even in the unpredictable traffic conditions of major GCC highways, you and your passengers are protected by some of the most robust engineering in the automotive industry.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Land Cruiser GXR is the ideal choice for a savvy buyer who wants the ultimate regional all-rounder with the best possible resale protection. It offers a turn-key solution for family luxury and off-road capability that remains the benchmark for the Middle East.
