Toyota Rush EX

Highlights

• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• 220 mm ground clearance
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2022 Rush EX is a quintessential family workhorse that balances 7-seater utility with the legendary reliability of a Toyota. With mileage sitting right at the expected average for a four-year-old vehicle in the GCC, this white SUV is perfectly positioned for high resale demand. It stands out from five-seater rivals by offering genuine three-row flexibility while remaining compact enough for tight urban parking in Dubai or Riyadh. For a buyer in this region, the combination of a fuel-efficient 1.5L engine and a massive service network makes it one of the most low-risk ownership propositions available today.

This Car vs Other 2022 Toyota Rushs

With 68,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits comfortably within the average annual mileage range for GCC drivers, typically 20,000–25,000 km per year. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during peak summer months. It represents a mechanically sound choice that hasn't been over-extended by long-distance cross-border commutes.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim provides the essential balance of value and utility, featuring standard rear parking sensors and a multi-information display that are highly practical for daily use. While the higher GX trim adds aesthetic upgrades like larger alloys, the EX maintains the same robust 1.5L powertrain and high-clearance suspension required for regional road conditions. It offers the full 7-seat configuration without the premium price tag of the top-tier cosmetic packages.

Rush vs Segment Rivals

The Rush leads the compact crossover segment by offering a 7-seat layout that rivals like the Mitsubishi ASX or Renault Duster lack. Its body-on-frame construction and rear-wheel-drive platform provide a level of durability on uneven suburban roads that its monocoque competitors cannot match. Additionally, Toyota’s AC systems are widely regarded as the most effective in the segment for maintaining cabin comfort during extreme 45°C+ summer heat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency for the 1.5L engine averages approximately 7.7 L/100km, making it highly economical for stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the UAE and wider GCC, parts are affordable and readily available. The Rush enjoys exceptional value retention, often depreciating at just 8–10% annually, which is significantly lower than its European or American-branded segment rivals.

Performance & Capability

A standout feature is the 220 mm ground clearance, which allows this SUV to navigate speed bumps, gravel tracks, and flooded urban roads with ease. The 103 hp engine is tuned for reliability and efficiency, providing steady power for highway cruising between Emirates. The rear-wheel-drive layout provides a tight 5.2-meter turning radius, making it surprisingly maneuverable in crowded shopping mall car parks or narrow residential streets.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring 13 bottle holders and a dedicated rear cooling system with ceiling-mounted vents to ensure all three rows stay cool. The seating is highly modular, with second-row seats that slide and tumble for easy access to the back. Even with the third row in use, there is enough space for daily groceries, while folding the rear rows flat opens up a significant cargo area for weekend trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the family, including six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to maintain traction on sandy or wet surfaces. It also features Hill-Start Assist Control, which is particularly useful on steep parking ramps or bridge inclines. This GCC-spec model is fully optimized for local safety requirements, providing peace of mind for school runs and highway travel alike.

The bottom line

This Toyota Rush EX is the ideal choice for a growing family that prioritizes long-term reliability and high resale value over flashy features. It is a proven, durable SUV that is ready to handle the daily GCC commute and weekend family outings with minimal running costs.
