Summary

This 2022 sedan is a standout choice for those prioritizing low running costs and long-term reliability in the GCC. With its white exterior—the region's most popular color for heat reflection—it maintains a high resale appeal for future owners. The mileage is exceptionally low for a four-year-old vehicle in this market, where annual averages typically reach 20,000 km, suggesting it has been used sparingly for city commuting rather than long-distance travel. In a segment focused on practicality, this model leads with its fuss-free ownership experience and legendary Toyota durability. For a GCC buyer, the combination of a genuine regional spec and a fuel-sipping 1.5L engine makes this a safe and financially sound investment.

This Car vs Other 2022 Yariss

With just 55,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less ground than the typical 80,000 to 90,000 km expected for a four-year-old car in the GCC. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering the best resistance to the desert sun and ensuring the fastest turnaround time at resale. As a genuine GCC spec unit, it features the heavy-duty cooling systems required to maintain peak performance during the extreme summer months.

E vs Lower Trims

As a key variant in the local lineup, the E trim provides essential modern upgrades over basic fleet specifications, including an 8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features LED headlights for improved visibility during night highway drives and rear parking sensors to simplify tight city maneuvering. This trim strikes the ideal balance for buyers who want Toyota's core reliability without the premium price tag of the top-tier G variant.

Yaris vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Sunny or Hyundai Accent, this model is frequently preferred for its superior value retention and the ubiquity of its service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It offers a 476-litre boot, providing more cargo versatility for small families than several competitors in the sub-compact class. The 1.5L engine is specifically tuned for the stop-start nature of GCC city traffic, delivering class-leading efficiency without sacrificing highway composure.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 5.1 L/100km, making it one of the most economical petrol sedans available for the daily Dubai-Sharjah or Abu Dhabi commute. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive network of authorized centers in the region, ensuring parts are always affordable and available. Toyota sedans in the GCC historically retain approximately 65% of their value after three years, significantly outperforming European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 105 hp output from the 1.5L four-cylinder engine is delivered smoothly through a CVT, optimized for fuel-sipping efficiency rather than raw speed. It handles the UAE's high-speed motorways with stability and provides a tight turning circle that is perfect for navigating crowded urban parking structures. While designed for the road, its generous ground clearance for a sedan allows it to handle the occasional unpaved gravel track common near new residential developments.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for functionality and resilience against heat, featuring durable fabric upholstery and a manual air conditioning system renowned for its cooling power in 45°C+ temperatures. Rear AC vents are included to ensure passenger comfort during the summer, a critical feature for family use in the region. The interior layout is surprisingly spacious, comfortably seating five adults with enough legroom for cross-emirate trips.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of essential systems including dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist. It also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat anchors, providing peace of mind for small families. These active safety features are particularly beneficial on fast-moving GCC highways where stability at cruising speeds is paramount.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious commuter or a small family, this low-mileage Yaris offers the ultimate combination of Toyota reliability and high resale potential in the GCC.
