Summary

This Toyota Yaris represents a practical choice for the GCC market, combining a reliable 1.5-litre engine with impressive urban agility. With just 51,000 km, this white sedan sits at a healthy average for a 2023 model, offering high resale potential given its popular color and GCC specification. The Yaris is renowned across the region for its ability to handle high summer temperatures while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency. It stands out in the subcompact segment by offering a more mature design and a surprisingly spacious cabin for daily commuting. The most important consideration for any buyer is the unmatched reliability and parts availability that comes with the Toyota badge in this region.

This Car vs Other 2023 Yariss

With 51,000 km on the odometer, this Yaris has been driven roughly 25,000 km per year, which is the standard average for highway-heavy commuting in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than darker shades. Choosing a GCC-spec model over imports ensures that the cooling system and air conditioning are fully optimized for the local desert climate.

E vs Lower Trims

The E trim provides a balanced equipment list over the base Y models, often including essential technology like a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features rear AC vents, a critical addition for passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer months. Compared to basic variants, you also benefit from steering-wheel-mounted audio controls and power-folding side mirrors for tighter parking spots.

Yaris vs Segment Rivals

The Yaris leads rivals like the Nissan Sunny and Hyundai Accent by offering a class-leading 475-liter boot and a tight 4.8-meter turning radius for effortless city navigation. While competitors may offer similar power, the Yaris is frequently preferred for its robust air conditioning performance in extreme heat. Its resale value remains the benchmark in the subcompact sedan segment across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 20.5 km/l, making it one of the most economical non-hybrid petrol sedans for long inter-city drives between Emirates. Service intervals are typical for Toyota at every 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the region, from the UAE to Oman. Historically, the Yaris retains approximately 80-85% of its value after three years, significantly outperforming most European and American rivals in the same class.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre engine delivers 105 hp, which is perfectly suited for steady highway cruising and efficient city stop-start traffic. Paired with a CVT that simulates a 7-speed sequential shift, the Yaris provides a smooth power delivery without the jerkiness of traditional small automatics. Its lightweight chassis and refined suspension ensure a stable ride even at highway speeds on the E11 or E311.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC driver in mind, featuring high-quality fabric seats that stay cool under the sun and a powerful manual air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents. Despite its compact exterior, the 2,620 mm wheelbase provides generous legroom for a family of five. Sound insulation has been improved in this generation to reduce road noise during long-distance highway trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the E trim includes dual front SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Traction Control to maintain grip on sandy or wet road surfaces. Drivers also benefit from Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which is vital for monitoring heat-related pressure changes. The inclusion of ISOFIX child seat anchors and Brake Assist (BA) provides additional peace of mind for small families.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Yaris is the ideal opportunity for a commuter or small family seeking the ultimate balance of low running costs and high resale value. It offers modern tech and class-leading practicality in a nearly-new package that is ready for the local climate.
