Summary

This 4-year-old sedan is a standout choice for those seeking the ultimate balance of reliability and running costs in the UAE. With the mileage sitting exactly at the expected average for a car of this age in the GCC, it represents a well-maintained example that hasn't been over-extended. The white exterior is the premier choice locally for heat reflection and commanding the highest possible resale value when you decide to upgrade. Choosing the Yaris E trim gives you a modern, tech-ready cabin without the added complexity of higher-tier electronics, ensuring long-term durability. This is a quintessential daily commuter that handles the summer heat and highway stretches with legendary Toyota air conditioning and fuel efficiency.

This Car vs Other 2022 Yariss

With 60,000 km on the odometer over 4 years, this vehicle sits precisely at the 15,000 km per year mark, which is actually below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km. This makes it a lower-mileage option compared to many fleet or high-use examples found on the market. The white paint provides a significant advantage for local ownership, helping the cabin stay cooler during peak summer months and ensuring it remains the most sought-after color for future buyers.

E vs Lower Trims

The E trim provides a significant leap in daily usability over the basic fleet-spec models by introducing a more integrated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It also upgrades the interior with more durable fabric upholstery and adds rear parking sensors, which are essential for navigating tight urban spots in Dubai or Riyadh. These additions make the E trim a much more comfortable environment for private owners who value connectivity and safety.

Yaris vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Sunny or Honda City, the Yaris leads the pack in terms of pure value retention and the sheer density of its service network across the entire GCC region. While its rivals might offer slightly different cabin dimensions, the Yaris wins on ownership peace of mind, with parts availability that is unmatched in secondary markets. It is specifically engineered to maintain its cooling performance and mechanical integrity even after years of exposure to the extreme humidity and heat of the Gulf.

Running Costs & Resale

The Yaris is famous for its exceptional fuel economy, achieving a manufacturer-rated 5.1 L/100km, which translates to massive savings during long-distance commutes between emirates. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintenance is both affordable and convenient. As a Japanese-built sedan with GCC specs, it enjoys a much slower depreciation rate than European rivals, typically retaining a high percentage of its value even at the 5-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter engine delivers a reliable 105 horsepower, paired with a smooth CVT that is optimized for fuel efficiency rather than aggressive sprinting. It reaches a top speed of 175 km/h, providing more than enough power for stable cruising on 140 km/h highways like the E11. The front-wheel-drive setup and light steering make it incredibly nimble in city traffic, while the suspension is tuned to absorb the vibrations of varied road surfaces found across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Yaris offers a surprisingly spacious cabin for its class, comfortably seating five adults for city hops. The manual air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful in the sub-compact segment, capable of chilling the cabin in minutes even after the car has been parked in direct sun. You will also find 475 liters of boot space, which is ample for family grocery runs or several medium-sized suitcases for airport trips.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of essential systems including dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to keep the car planted on sandy or wet roads. This trim also includes a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and rear parking sensors as standard, providing active alerts that are particularly useful during fast-paced highway driving and tight city parking.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer looking for a hassle-free, low-cost commuter that is virtually guaranteed to sell quickly in the future, this 2022 Yaris E is the most logical choice on the market today.
