Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Captiva LS is a practical 3-year-old family crossover that offers remarkable utility in the GCC market. With seven seats and a fuel-efficient 1.5L turbocharged engine, it effectively bridges the gap between a compact SUV and a full-size family hauler. The white exterior is a top-tier choice for the region, known for its superior heat reflection and high resale demand in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As an LS trim, it focuses on essential family logistics, providing a spacious cabin and easy-to-clean cloth seating. For a buyer seeking modern styling and low running costs without the premium price of a full-size SUV, this GCC-spec listing represents a balanced and reliable opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Captivas

With 53,000 km on the odometer, this Captiva's mileage is slightly below the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typically seen for family SUVs in the GCC. The Polar White exterior is the most popular and resilient color for local conditions, ensuring it remains highly liquid in the used market. Being a 3-year-old vehicle, it has already passed its steepest initial depreciation phase, offering a better value-to-age ratio than newer models.

LS vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the Captiva range, the LS provides the essential 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It includes critical GCC features like rear parking sensors and a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents. While higher trims add leather or sunroofs, the LS trim is favored by practical buyers for its durable cloth interior and lower long-term maintenance complexity.

Captiva vs Segment Rivals

The Captiva leads rivals like the Mitsubishi ASX and Mazda CX-3 by offering a genuine seven-seat configuration in a compact footprint, a rarity in this price bracket. Its 1.5L turbo engine is specifically tuned for efficiency, outperforming larger naturally aspirated competitors in stop-and-go city traffic. The 270.2 cm wheelbase provides superior middle-row legroom compared to more driver-focused compact crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is excellent for the segment, benefiting from a CVT that keeps revs low during highway cruising between emirates. Chevrolet maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring parts availability is never an issue. This model typically sees a 12-15% annual depreciation rate in the GCC, holding its value better than many non-GCC spec equivalents due to its local warranty compatibility and proven cooling systems.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine produces a reliable 149 hp and 255 Nm of torque, providing smooth acceleration for highway overtaking. With a top speed of 180 km/h and a front-wheel-drive layout, it is engineered primarily for urban commuting and long-distance road trips. While not a desert off-roader, its elevated ground clearance makes it capable of handling gravel tracks and the high speed bumps common in regional residential areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics, featuring a flexible 7-seat layout where both the second and third rows can fold flat for significant cargo space. Standard cabin cooling is highly effective for the GCC summer, supported by rear-seat vents that ensure all passengers remain comfortable. Acoustic insulation is surprisingly good for the class, keeping the cabin quiet during high-speed highway drives.

Safety

Standard safety features on the LS trim include dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). It also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Hill Start Assist, which are particularly useful for maintaining safety during long drives on hot GCC highways. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are standard, assisting with visibility in tight urban parking environments.

The bottom line

For a GCC family prioritizing fuel efficiency and seating capacity, this 2023 Captiva LS offers the best space-per-Dirham ratio in the current used market. It is a smart, low-risk buy for anyone needing a modern, reliable daily driver with the peace of mind of GCC specifications.
