Summary

This 2023 Hyundai Staria Comfort presents a compelling opportunity for large families or premium transport services, offering a futuristic aesthetic that stands out in the GCC van segment. With 62,000 km on the clock over 3 years, it has been driven slightly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average for the region, suggesting careful use. The 3.5L V6 engine provides the necessary power for full-passenger highway cruising between emirates, while the white exterior remains the most practical choice for heat reflection and resale stability in the UAE. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a robust regional service network and cooling systems optimized for extreme summer temperatures.

This Car vs Other 2023 Starias

With 62,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average to slightly low for a 3-year-old multi-passenger van in the GCC, where long-distance commutes are standard. The white exterior is a strategic advantage, as it is the highest-demand color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than darker shades.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim bridges the gap between basic utility and executive travel, adding essential tech like the 360-degree Surround View Monitor and front parking sensors which are absent on the base Smart trim. Inside, you benefit from upgraded climate controls and a more refined infotainment interface, making it significantly better suited for premium passenger transport.

Staria vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Hiace or Kia Carnival, the Staria offers a more futuristic cabin layout and superior vertical interior space thanks to its low beltline and massive windows. While the Hiace focuses on pure utility, the Staria provides a car-like driving experience with an 8-speed automatic transmission that is noticeably smoother during highway overtakes.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 engine delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.5L/100km, which is efficient for a 9-seater in GCC stop-start traffic. Maintenance is straightforward via Hyundai’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with typical intervals every 10,000 km. Starias hold their value well in the region due to their popularity in the tourism and large-family sectors.

Performance & Capability

The Smartstream 3.5L V6 engine produces a verified 270 hp, allowing this van to reach 100 km/h in a respectable 8.9 seconds—surprising agility for its size. This power is crucial for maintaining highway speeds when fully loaded with nine passengers and luggage. The front-wheel-drive setup paired with the 8-speed automatic ensures a smooth, car-like delivery that minimizes passenger fatigue on long cross-border drives.

Comfort & Cabin

Configured as a 9-seater, the cabin is designed with a 'lounge' philosophy, featuring high-quality plastics and ample legroom across all three rows. The GCC-spec multi-zone climate control is exceptionally powerful, ensuring the third row remains cool even in 45°C+ summer heat. With all nine seats in use, the vehicle still offers 831 litres of cargo space, which is ample for airport runs or weekend trips.

Safety

This Staria comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including multiple airbags and Electronic Stability Control, which is vital for a vehicle of this height. The standard 360° camera system is a standout feature for the GCC market, making parking in tight urban malls far safer. Additionally, Hill-start Assist Control and Blind-Spot View Monitoring provide extra security during fast-paced highway lane changes.

The bottom line

This Staria Comfort is the ideal choice for a buyer needing maximum seating without sacrificing modern tech, offering a well-maintained, GCC-ready package that beats typical annual mileage.
