Summary

This 2023 CLS350 AMG represents a final-year opportunity for one of Mercedes-Benz's most iconic four-door silhouettes. With 48,000 km over 3 years, it has been driven slightly less than the typical GCC executive average, preserving the mechanical integrity of its 300 hp mild-hybrid powertrain. The AMG trim adds a layer of aggression to the sleek coupe-like profile, while the grey exterior provides one of the strongest resale profiles in the UAE market. As a GCC-spec model, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer heat with a cooling system designed for the region. This is a refined choice for professionals seeking the balance between a sports car’s stance and executive sedan comfort.

This Car vs Other 2023 CLS350s

With an average annual mileage of 16,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably below the 20,000–25,000 km yearly average common for GCC-based executive sedans. The grey exterior is a highly desirable shade in the local market, ensuring significantly better value retention than more niche colors. Being the final model year of this generation, it benefits from the most mature electronics and production quality of the series.

AMG vs Lower Trims

The AMG trim transforms the CLS with 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, a more aggressive front apron, and the iconic diamond radiator grille. Inside, it adds the flat-bottomed AMG performance steering wheel and sport-contoured seats which are essential for the driver-centric feel this model is known for. It also includes upgraded braking components and firmer suspension tuning compared to the base Avantgarde specifications.

CLS350 vs Segment Rivals

The CLS350 is primarily cross-shopped with the Audi A7 and the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, leading its rivals in pure aesthetic silhouette and cabin materials. Its 66-litre fuel tank provides a generous range for long-distance cruising between emirates or across GCC borders. Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX infotainment system in this generation remains one of the most intuitive interfaces in the segment for daily commuting.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 7.5 to 8.5 L/100km, which is efficient for a car of this stature in GCC highway traffic. As a final-year model with GCC regional specs, it commands a premium in the used market and is eligible for full service support at authorized centers like Gargash or Emirates Motor Company. While German luxury sedans typically depreciate by 12-18% annually, the CLS benefits from high demand as a discontinued icon, stabilizing its value at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine produces a verified 300 hp, propelling the car to 100 km/h in a swift 6.1 seconds. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is tuned for seamless highway overtaking, making it a capable companion for the high-speed transit roads of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Selectable drive modes allow you to switch from a relaxed comfort setting to a sharp, responsive rear-wheel-drive sport configuration instantly.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seater masterclass in luxury, featuring multi-color ambient lighting and premium upholstery standard on the AMG line. Regional cooling is highly effective, with dedicated rear vents ensuring passenger comfort during peak GCC summer months. Acoustic glass and high-grade insulation keep the interior remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from both road noise and desert heat during long cross-country drives.

Safety

This trim features a comprehensive safety suite including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and a 360-degree camera system that makes parking this long coupe effortless. The Pre-Safe system and multiple airbags provide top-tier occupant protection, while the adaptive cruise control is a vital feature for reducing fatigue on the long desert highways between major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This is a rare chance to own the final iteration of the CLS line in a high-demand GCC spec and color. It is the perfect acquisition for a buyer who values the prestige of a flagship Mercedes coupe with the practicality of a four-door sedan.
