Summary

This three-year-old Skoda Kushaq is a standout choice for those seeking European engineering in a compact, city-friendly footprint. With 44,000 km, it has been driven roughly 14,000 km per year, which is well below the GCC average of 20,000 km, signaling a car that has spent more time in the garage than on the highway. The Style trim is the most desirable version of this model, adding essential comfort features like ventilated seats that are a necessity in the regional heat. Grey is a neutral, high-resale color in the UAE and wider GCC, offering a sophisticated look while hiding desert dust better than darker shades. For a buyer looking for a safe, modern crossover with a balanced maintenance history, this listing represents a prime opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Kushaqs

While many used crossovers in the UAE average 20,000 km annually, this Kushaq’s odometer sits at just 44,000 km after three years of use. This lower-than-average mileage suggests reduced wear on the turbocharged engine and suspension components. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, maintaining its luster under the intense sun and ensuring strong interest when it comes time to trade in.

STYLE vs Lower Trims

The Style trim is a significant step up from the Active and Ambition variants, specifically addressing the needs of GCC drivers. It adds ventilated front seats and a more powerful automatic climate control system with rear vents to handle summer peaks. You also get a larger 10-inch infotainment screen with wireless smartphone integration and a 6-speaker premium sound system that isn't available on entry-level models.

Kushaq vs Segment Rivals

The Kushaq competes directly with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, distinguishing itself with a more robust European build quality and a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. It leads the segment in ground clearance at 188 mm, making it more capable of handling occasional gravel paths or high speed bumps. Its wheelbase is also among the longest in its class, providing superior rear-seat legroom for a compact crossover.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.0L TSI engine is highly efficient, typically averaging 6.5 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC stop-start traffic may see city figures closer to 8.5 L/100km. Service intervals are generally every 15,000 km, and Skoda’s authorized network is well-established in the UAE via Ali & Sons and across major GCC hubs. Resale value for the Kushaq remains stable at the 3-year mark, benefiting from the brand's growing reputation for reliability in the Middle East.

Performance & Capability

The 1.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers 113 hp and a punchy 178 Nm of torque, allowing for confident highway overtaking despite the small displacement. Its 188 mm ground clearance is a genuine asset for navigating sandy shoulders or uneven terrain during weekend road trips. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, making it an ideal companion for the daily commute between Sharjah and Dubai.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Style trim provides a refined experience with leatherette upholstery and a cooled glovebox for keeping beverages chilled. The ventilated front seats are a standout feature, providing immediate relief during the hottest months of the year. The cabin is well-insulated from road noise, and the flat-folding rear seats allow for a total cargo capacity of up to 1,405 liters for major shopping trips.

Safety

Safety is where the Kushaq leads, being one of the few in its segment to secure a 5-star rating for both adult and child protection. It comes standard with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Multi-Collision Braking. Features like Hill Hold Control and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System provide extra peace of mind on long desert highway stretches.

The bottom line

Perfect for the urban professional or a small family, this low-mileage Style trim Kushaq offers the best features and safety ratings in the segment at a great value. It is the right choice for someone who wants the prestige of a European car with the sensible running costs of a compact SUV.
