Summary

This 2023 Skoda Kushaq in Style trim offers a compelling mix of European engineering and local practicality, specifically suited for the daily GCC commute. With just 31,000 km, it sits well below the average annual mileage for the region, making it an excellent opportunity for a buyer seeking a near-new crossover. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-resale choice that handles the local sun and dust better than darker tones. In a segment dominated by budget alternatives, the Kushaq stands out with its robust build quality and a 5-star safety pedigree that is rare in its class. For the GCC driver, the combination of efficient cooling and European road manners makes it a sophisticated yet sensible daily workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2023 Kushaqs

With only 31,000 km on the odometer, this Kushaq has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km per year expected in the UAE. The Grey paintwork is a highly practical choice for the region, offering better heat management than black while retaining a more premium aesthetic than basic white. It represents a low-wear example of a model year that fully stabilized the platform's reliability for the local climate.

Style vs Lower Trims

The Style trim is the definitive choice for the GCC climate, adding essential ventilated front seats which are absent on the Ambition and Active trims. It also upgrades the cabin with a larger 10-inch infotainment system, a premium 6-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, and a sunroof. Outside, you gain 17-inch alloy wheels and full LED headlamps with cornering functions that significantly improve visibility during late-night desert highway drives.

Kushaq vs Segment Rivals

The Kushaq leads its primary rivals, the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks, in structural integrity and safety, being the first in its class to secure a 5-star Global NCAP rating for both adults and children. While rivals focus on soft features, the Skoda offers a more composed European driving feel and a generous 2,651 mm wheelbase that provides superior legroom for family trips. Its 50-litre fuel tank paired with the 1.0 TSI engine offers a longer highway range than many naturally aspirated competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.0 TSI engine is highly efficient in GCC conditions, delivering a manufacturer-official 6.5 L/100km on a combined cycle, which helps offset rising fuel costs during long commutes. Service intervals are typically set at 15,000 km or one year, with a growing authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC ensuring reliable parts availability. While European crossovers traditionally depreciate faster than Japanese brands, the Kushaq’s safety record and high trim level help it retain roughly 60-65% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 113 hp and 178 Nm of torque, providing a punchy mid-range that is ideal for navigating fast-moving highway traffic. It reaches a top speed of 186 km/h, maintaining stability and European-tuned composure even at higher cruising speeds. With 188 mm of ground clearance, it confidently handles gravel tracks and speed bumps, making it a capable companion for light weekend adventures away from the city.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Style trim prioritizes passenger comfort with a dedicated Climatronic AC system and rear cooling vents, essential for maintaining a pleasant cabin during the peak summer months. The five-seat layout features premium upholstery and flat-folding rear seats that expand the cargo area for large shopping trips or travel gear. Acoustic insulation is notably better than many entry-level crossovers, keeping the cabin quiet during long highway stints between Emirates.

Safety

Safety is the Kushaq's strongest suit, featuring six airbags as standard in the Style trim along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Multi-Collision Braking. It includes ISOFIX child seat anchors and a stable body shell that outperformed all rivals in crash testing. For the GCC driver, the standard tyre pressure monitoring and rear-view camera provide daily peace of mind in busy urban parking and high-speed highway environments.

The bottom line

This low-mileage Style trim is the perfect match for a safety-conscious family or professional who wants European refinement and cooled seats without the high running costs of a larger SUV.
