Summary

This 2023 Suzuki Dzire GLX represents the top-tier configuration of one of the region's most efficient compact sedans. With its grey exterior offering excellent heat reflection and high resale demand in the UAE market, this GLX trim provides significant equipment advantages over the base model. Its 1.2-litre engine is perfectly suited for GCC city traffic, delivering class-leading economy that drastically reduces monthly running costs. For buyers seeking a modern, reliable commuter with a full suite of convenience features, this GCC-spec listing stands out as a highly practical choice for the local climate.

This Car vs Other 2023 Dzires

With 85,000 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average annual mileage for a typical GCC commuter but remains well within the expected lifecycle for Suzuki’s robust 1.2-litre powertrain. The grey metallic finish is a strategic choice for the region, offering better dust concealment and higher resale retention than bolder colors. As a top-spec GLX, it offers a more premium cabin environment than the high volume of base-trim models currently in the used market.

GLX vs Lower Trims

Choosing the GLX trim adds essential upgrades for the GCC climate, most notably the automatic climate control system which maintains cabin temperature more effectively than the manual unit in the GL. It also upgrades the driving experience with a 9-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and keyless push-start functionality. Exterior enhancements include 15-inch alloy wheels and LED projector headlamps that provide superior visibility during night highway drives.

Dzire vs Segment Rivals

The Dzire leads rivals like the Mitsubishi Attrage and Toyota Yaris in pure fuel efficiency, achieving up to 21 km/L which is critical for high-mileage UAE commuters. While competitors often prioritize basic transport, the Dzire GLX offers a more refined interior layout and a 378-litre boot that handles family grocery runs or airport luggage with ease. Its compact 4.8-meter turning radius also makes it significantly easier to maneuver in tight Dubai or Riyadh parking structures compared to larger sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are among the lowest in the sedan segment, with real-world fuel consumption averaging 4.8L to 6L per 100km depending on highway or city split. Service intervals are standard at 10,000 km, supported by a massive authorised network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are always affordable and available. The Dzire typically retains approximately 70-72% of its value after three years in the GCC, performing slightly better than its segment average due to its reputation for mechanical durability.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 82 hp and 113 Nm of torque, focused entirely on smooth delivery and efficiency rather than raw speed. It reaches 100 km/h in approximately 12.5 seconds, which is ample for city merging and maintaining steady speeds on long desert highways. The automated transmission is tuned for GCC stop-start traffic, ensuring a relaxed driving experience during peak hour commutes between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The GLX cabin is designed for daily utility, featuring a five-seat layout with surprisingly generous legroom for a sub-compact sedan. The automatic air conditioning is specifically calibrated for high-ambient temperatures, paired with rear cooling vents to ensure all passengers stay comfortable during peak summer. Tech is anchored by a responsive 9-inch display, while the upgraded 6-speaker audio system provides a significant boost in quality over the standard 4-speaker setup found in lower trims.

Safety

Safety is managed through a comprehensive suite including dual front airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The GLX trim adds rear parking sensors and a rearview camera as standard, providing critical assistance in the UAE's busy urban environments. Brake Assist and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) further enhance security during long-distance highway travel.

The bottom line

This Dzire GLX is the ideal match for a budget-conscious professional or small family looking for maximum features and minimum fuel spend in a modern, GCC-ready package.
