Summary

This Toyota Yaris E is a practical choice for those seeking a modern commuter with a proven track record for reliability in the region. Having covered 77,119 km over its 3-year lifespan, its mileage sits within the expected range for a high-usage GCC commuter, where long-distance highway travel is the norm. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring it stays cooler in the summer and retains its resale value better than darker shades. In a segment where running costs are king, this Yaris stands out for its exceptional fuel efficiency and widespread parts availability. It is a dependable partner for both city traffic and cross-emirate commutes.

This Car vs Other 2023 Yariss

With 77,119 km on the clock, this vehicle's mileage is typical for a 3-year-old car in the GCC, where the average annual usage often reaches 25,000 km. The white exterior finish is a significant advantage in the local market, as it reflects the intense sunlight more effectively than darker colors and is highly favored for resale. Compared to many higher-mileage examples in the used market, this car remains a strong candidate for continued long-term service.

E vs Lower Trims

As a primary entry point for the Yaris lineup in the UAE, the E trim provides essential modern conveniences like an 8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. It offers a practical step up from basic fleet versions by including rear AC vents, which are critical for passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. The inclusion of steering wheel-mounted controls and LED headlamps ensures a safer and more premium feel compared to older base-spec models.

Yaris vs Segment Rivals

The Yaris is frequently cross-shopped with the Nissan Sunny and the Honda City, leading the group in terms of overall fuel economy and brand trust in the region. Its 4.8-meter turning radius makes it more maneuverable in tight urban parking spaces than several competitors. Additionally, Toyota's unmatched service footprint across the UAE and the wider GCC makes it a more convenient ownership proposition than rivals with fewer authorized centers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency is a hallmark of this powertrain, achieving an official combined figure of 4.8077 L/100km, making it one of the most economical petrol cars on UAE roads. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or 6 months at authorized centers like Al-Futtaim, with a major service typically occurring every 60,000 km. The Yaris historically experiences a lower depreciation rate than its European rivals, typically retaining value well due to the high demand for Japanese sedans in the GCC used market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine produces 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque, delivered smoothly through a CVT that simulates a 7-speed transmission. While built for efficiency rather than speed, it provides sufficient power for confident highway merging and stable cruising at UAE speed limits. The front-wheel-drive layout and tuned suspension offer a comfortable ride that handles the daily grind of city stop-start traffic with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for functional comfort, featuring fabric seats that remain cooler than leather during the hot summer months. A powerful manual air conditioning system is supplemented by dedicated rear vents, ensuring all five passengers stay comfortable during long desert drives. The 475-liter boot capacity provides ample space for grocery runs or small family trips, making it surprisingly practical for a compact sedan.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). It also features a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat anchors, providing essential peace of mind for daily family use. These systems are particularly effective on high-speed GCC highways, where stability and reliable braking performance are paramount.

The bottom line

For the daily commuter or small family, this GCC-spec Yaris offers the ultimate combination of low running costs and high reliability. It is a smart, low-risk investment for anyone needing a dependable vehicle that holds its value exceptionally well in the regional market.
