Summary

This 2023 Toyota Yaris E offers an ideal balance of modern efficiency and renowned reliability for GCC commuters. As the first model year of the latest generation, it features a more aggressive design and improved cabin space compared to its predecessors. With a fuel-efficient 1.5L engine and a white exterior—the most sought-after resale color in the region—this sedan is built for cost-effective ownership. The 63,000 km mileage is consistent with typical highway use for a car of this age in the UAE. For buyers seeking a dependable daily driver with high market demand, this Yaris remains the benchmark for the compact sedan segment.

This Car vs Other 2023 Yariss

With 63,000 km on the odometer, this Yaris has been driven approximately 31,500 km per year, which is typical for highway-based commuting between emirates. While slightly above global averages, it is standard for the GCC used market where Toyotas are expected to handle long distances with ease. The white exterior is the strongest color for local resale value, offering superior heat reflection and market liquidity.

E vs Lower Trims

In the UAE, the E trim serves as the essential entry point for the 1.5L powertrain, offering significantly better highway performance than the 1.3L variants found in other regional markets. It includes key standard features like a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring modern connectivity. This trim focuses on core utility and reliability, avoiding the added complexity of higher-tier electronics while retaining Toyota's famous cabin cooling efficiency.

Yaris vs Segment Rivals

The Yaris competes directly with the Nissan Sunny and Kia Rio, leading the segment in long-term value retention and parts availability across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Its 1.5L engine is specifically tuned for fuel economy, often outperforming rivals in stop-start city traffic. Additionally, Toyota's air conditioning system is widely regarded by GCC owners as the most robust for maintaining cabin comfort during peak summer temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is exceptional, averaging around 5.1 L/100km, making it one of the most affordable petrol vehicles to operate in the region. Toyota’s authorized service network is the most extensive in the GCC, with centers readily available in every major city. This model typically retains approximately 75% of its value after three years, significantly outperforming European and American competitors in the same class.

Performance & Capability

The 105 hp 1.5L engine provides reliable power for city maneuvers and steady highway cruising. While not a performance vehicle, its CVT transmission is optimized for smooth power delivery and maximum fuel efficiency. A tight 4.8-meter turning circle makes it exceptionally easy to park and navigate through dense urban traffic in Dubai or Riyadh.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a practical 5-seat layout with durable fabric upholstery designed to withstand the GCC climate. Standard rear A/C vents ensure all passengers remain cool during the summer months, a vital feature for family use. The 475-liter boot space is surprisingly generous for a compact sedan, easily accommodating weekly groceries or travel luggage for cross-border trips.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Traction Control to maintain grip on sandy or wet surfaces. It also features Brake Assist (BA) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), providing added confidence in various driving conditions. These systems offer a solid safety foundation that meets the rigorous demands of fast-moving GCC highways.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious professional or small family, this Yaris is a low-risk investment with a proven track record for reliability and high resale demand in the GCC.
