Summary

This 2024 BMW X5 M Competition is a standout opportunity, offering near-new performance with only 12,800 km on the clock. As a 2-year-old vehicle in the GCC, its low mileage is a significant advantage compared to the typical high-use driving patterns in the region. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable and stable resale color in the UAE, perfectly complementing the aggressive M-specific styling updates of this LCI generation. For the performance-minded buyer, this represents the peak of the X5 lineup, blending supercar acceleration with daily SUV practicality. The addition of the 48V mild-hybrid system in this model year ensures sharper throttle response, which is invaluable for highway overtaking in fast-moving GCC traffic.

This Car vs Other 2024 X5s

At just 12,800 km, this X5 M Competition has covered significantly less ground than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This ultra-low mileage ensures the vehicle remains in peak mechanical condition, offering a 'like-new' ownership experience. The Grey finish is one of the most resilient colors for the local market, maintaining its appeal and value better than bolder, niche alternatives.

M COMPETITION vs Lower Trims

The M Competition sits at the absolute top of the hierarchy, delivering a substantial power increase over the M60i and adding essential track-ready hardware. It features a bespoke M Sport exhaust system, staggered 21-inch front and 22-inch rear M light-alloy wheels, and M Multi-function seats standard. Inside, you benefit from the full Merino leather upholstery and the M-specific Head-up Display, features that command a premium in the used market.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

The X5 M Competition is frequently cross-shopped with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S. It leads the segment in terms of balanced cabin technology, featuring the expansive BMW Curved Display that outperforms the ergonomics of its rivals. Additionally, the X5's split-tailgate design offers a level of cargo-loading practicality that is unmatched by its direct competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this high-performance V8 typically averages around 13.1 L/100km, though this can increase in heavy city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from the full support of authorized BMW service centers across the region, which is a vital factor for long-term value retention. The M Competition trim historically holds its value better than standard X5 models in the GCC, thanks to its high desirability among enthusiasts.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, this SUV rockets to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, rivaling many dedicated sports cars. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system is rear-biased for agility but provides immense grip, making it exceptionally stable during high-speed cross-emirate drives. With 600 hp and an integrated 48V mild-hybrid motor, power delivery is instantaneous, ensuring you always have the torque required for effortless highway maneuvers.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a focused luxury environment featuring ventilated M multifunction seats, which are essential for staying comfortable during the peak GCC summer. The 14.9-inch central information display and 12.3-inch digital cluster are housed in a single curved unit, providing a futuristic and driver-centric feel. Four-zone automatic climate control ensures all five passengers stay cool, while the Harman Kardon surround sound system provides a premium audio experience.

Safety

This M Competition comes equipped with BMW's comprehensive Active Driving Assistant, including Frontal Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning. For navigating tight parking spaces in urban centers, the 360° Surround View camera system is standard. The performance-spec M Sport brakes provide exceptional stopping power, a critical safety feature for a vehicle with this level of performance.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who demands supercar performance without sacrificing the space and status of a premium SUV. With its exceptionally low mileage and high-demand GCC specification, it represents a secure and thrilling investment in the current market.
